Gidley Glen Gidley, a part-time teaching instructor at LCCC who taught English from August 2007 to May 2019, recently passed away. View his full obituary here . LCCC Fall Open House Prospective students and their families are invited to LCC’s in-person fall open house on Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the CSC on the college’s main campus in Schnecksville. Students can choose to attend one of two sessions: 4 to 6 p.m. or 6 to 8 p.m. Admissions and financial aid representatives, academic advisors as well as faculty program coordinators will be on hand to answer your questions. Therefore an ePortfolio is both a product as well as a process. They can be used as a personal branding tool to market oneself to potential employers and transfer institutions. Hide more Human Resources News Employee Process for Reporting a Positive COVID-19 Test Result If an employee tests positive, or has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive (within six feet for more than a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period with or without a mask, per new CDC guidelines) or a household member who has COVID-19, he or she must call the Director of Human Resources at 610-657-1877. If the Director of Human Resources cannot be reached, the employee should call the Assistant Director of Human Resources at 570-423-5394. It is required that the employee calls, not send an email. Hide more Article Reminders Articles 2022 Open Enrollment Open enrollment for medical benefits and the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) occurs annually in November. Open enrollment is the only time of the year in which an employee eligible for health insurance coverage may change his/her health insurance programs, add/drop a dependent or waive coverage without a qualifying event preceding the change. Open enrollment benefit changes and Flexible Spending Account forms are due by Nov. 24. Late submissions will not be accepted. You can view the summaries of the PP6 Highmark plans and Dental Plan on the college’s intranet by clicking here . If you are making a change to your current plan, please submit your change forms to the Human Resource Office by Nov. 24. The change forms are available on the intranet and as an attachment included with this email memo. If you are not making any changes to your dependent coverage, new forms are not required. All changes during the open enrollment period are effective Jan. 1, 2022. If you are waiving coverage for the 2022 plan year, a Waiver of Coverage form is required. (Medical Opt Out Benefit for 2022 is $2,500 effective Jan. 1, 2022.) Please submit your waiver form to the Human Resource Office by Nov. 24. The Flexible Spending Account Election Form for the 2022 plan year is attached and also posted on the intranet. Please complete this form if you choose to elect a Section 125-Flexible Spending Account for calendar year 2022 and return it to the Human Resource Office by Nov. 24. She received her business administration degree in 2002 from LCCC and tutored algebra while she was a student. She then received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Albright College through a scholarship and partnership program from LCCC. Honors College Hosts Guest Lecture by Dr. Alison Dagnes Dr. Alison Dagnes, professor of political science at Shippensburg University, will present Throwing the Party of a Lifetime: How Right-Wing Media Helped to Transform the GOP, on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 2:30 p.m., in the Alumni Center, Rooms 107/108. The lecture will be in person but also streaming over Zoom. In the wake of the 2016 and 2020 elections, a strong, reinforcing relationship grew between three dominant groups within the Republican Party: Right-wing media, elected officials and base voters. This talk examines the influence of the new Republican Party elites: the power shift from Party leaders to performative media figures and the consequences of this new partisan incentive structure. LCCC Hosts Fall Job Fair The Career Development Center is excited to announce the return of the in-person Fall Job Fair scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Community Services Center. We have 90 employers participating who are looking for candidates to fill full-time, part-time and internship opportunities. Students can view a list of employers here. Faculty - please encourage your students to attend. There is a free gift for the first 100 students to arrive. They can also enter to win awesome raffle prizes such as Eagles tickets, a personal parking space for the spring semester, movie passes, a huge snack basket and much more. Faculty interested in promoting to your classes can contact us for a short video that can be added to Canvas. It contains a QR code which students can use to enter to win a $50 Visa gift card for themselves and one for the participating faculty member. LCCC Hosts Morgan Center Transfer Event

LCCC Tamaqua will host a transfer event this semester at the Morgan Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov.

LCCC Fall Open House

Prospective students and their families are invited to LCC’s in-person fall open house on Wednesday, Nov. 10, in

the CSC on the college’s main campus in Schnecksville. Students can choose to attend one of two sessions: 4 to

6 p.m. or 6 to 8 p.m.

Admissions and financial aid representatives, academic advisors as well as faculty program coordinators will be

on hand to answer your questions. The open house is an excellent opportunity for prospective students of all

ages to tour the campus, learn about scholarship opportunities and learn how LCCC can pave the way for an

Employee Process for Reporting a Positive COVID-19 Test Result

If an employee tests positive, or has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive (within six feet

for more than a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period with or without a mask, per new

CDC guidelines) or a household member who has COVID-19, he or she must call the Director of Human

Resources at 610-657-1877. If the Director of Human Resources cannot be reached, the employee should call

the Assistant Director of Human Resources at 570-423-5394. It is required that the employee calls, not send an

email.

The following information is required:

Date of onset of COVID-19 symptoms

Date employee tested positive for COVID-19

Employee's department and office room number

2022 Open Enrollment

Open enrollment for medical benefits and the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) occurs annually in November.

Open enrollment is the only time of the year in which an employee eligible for health insurance coverage may

change his/her health insurance programs, add/drop a dependent or waive coverage without a qualifying event

preceding the change. Open enrollment benefit changes and Flexible Spending Account forms are due by

Nov. 24. Late submissions will not be accepted.

You can view the summaries of the PP6 Highmark plans and Dental Plan on the college’s intranet by clicking

here .

If you are making a change to your current plan, please submit your change forms to the Human Resource

Office by Nov. 24. The change forms are available on the intranet and as an attachment included with this

email memo.

If you are not making any changes to your dependent coverage, new forms are not required.

All changes during the open enrollment period are effective Jan. 1, 2022.

If you are waiving coverage for the 2022 plan year, a Waiver of Coverage form is required. (Medical Opt Out

Benefit for 2022 is $2,500 effective Jan. 1, 2022.) Please submit your waiver form to the Human Resource

Office by Nov. 24.

The Flexible Spending Account Election Form for the 2022 plan year is attached and also posted on the

intranet. Please complete this form if you choose to elect a Section 125-Flexible Spending Account for

calendar year 2022 and return it to the Human Resource Office by Nov. 24. You are not automatically enrolled

in the FSA. A 2022 enrollment form is required.

Rose Boettger is Retiring

Please join us to visit with Rose, thank her for her hard work in the library and wish her well. Rose has been

working in the library for 20 years. She received her business administration degree in 2002 from LCCC and

tutored algebra while she was a student. She then received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Albright

College through a scholarship and partnership program from LCCC. Rose has also volunteered at LCCC over

the years, and she will be greatly missed!

Honors College Hosts Guest Lecture by Dr. Alison Dagnes

Dr. Alison Dagnes, professor of political science at Shippensburg University, will present Throwing the Party of a

Lifetime: How Right-Wing Media Helped to Transform the GOP , on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 2:30 p.m., in the

Alumni Center, Rooms 107/108. The lecture will be in person but also streaming over Zoom .

In the wake of the 2016 and 2020 elections, a strong, reinforcing relationship grew between three dominant

groups within the Republican Party: Right-wing media, elected officials and base voters. This talk examines the

influence of the new Republican Party elites: the power shift from Party leaders to performative media figures

and the consequences of this new partisan incentive structure.
