Summary

Photo-Latent Metal Catalyst... why?
1. Fast curing of applied 2K-PUR coating at RT
Reduced energy consumption: RT vs. 60-80°C
– Address issue of heating very large objects, heat-sensitive parts, or heavy metal structures
Increased through-put
– Short time to dust-free
– Short time to handling/moving of coated object
4
Proposed Solution = non-Sn metal catalyst triggered by UV-light, thus activated at RT + when desired (“cure-on-demand”).
2. Long pot-life, i.e. >>1hr. (ideally up to 6hrs.)
Reduced paint waste
More flexible process timing
3. Organotin free compound
Heat sensitive substrates
