Our school used to be run by nuns . The nuns asked the education council for funding. The nuns were told that they would not get funding until their

buildings were better.

They put a proposal for the new building on December 1901 There was a big debate whether to treat ND as a school as some

people worried that mixing with French pupils would encourage anti-English thinking and with whom English children would want to fight with in case of a war.

They had the four playgrounds split into parts one for the rich girls one for the rich boys one for the poor girls and one for the poor boys .

On July 1995 the last nun, Sister Mary-Paul returned to Canada after 125 years of the convent running.
