Please join us for an evening of worship, fellowship, and fun — with a little bit of business mixed in!

at Gateway/Crosspoint Church Dr. Tracy Jaggers will be sharing his vision for the association, so you won’t want to miss! A time of fellowship (and homemade pies) will follow the meeting. Although childcare will not be provided, families/kids are welcome to attend.

We are asking that each church designate 2 representatives for voting purposes; however ALL are welcome and encouraged to attend this evening of fellowship and celebration! No RSVP necessary.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the

name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching

them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you

always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19

“Extend

Hospitality”

This summer, Gateway Baptist Association will have an opportunity to host a missions team from Texas and live out what the Bible says in

Romans 12:13 to “contribute to the needs of the saints (and) extend hospitality to strangers.” Pastor Jerry Vineyard and the Under Over Fellowship from Conroe, Texas, are making plans to travel to our associational area with a missions team of approximately 20 summer missionaries, and they are willing to help in whatever ministry needs we may have. What does the last week of June or the first two weeks of July look like on your church calendar? Could your church use additional hands during VBS, a light construction project, or a Good News blitz of your church neighborhood? Call or email Greg Gomez at 618-791-2378 or [email protected] and let’s get the conversation started. Let’s Be On Mission with Jesus!

“Therefore,

Pray”

Gateway Baptist Association is sending a missions team of 23 individuals to Magdalena, Guatemala this summer from July 23-30, and we need your prayers. Through the use of classroom presentations, skits, testimonies, games, and songs, we will be ministering to the needs of children and young people in one private and two public schools of this rural community in the mountains. Please expect some announcements regarding how you may help during this trip in the next few months. Remember in the book of Matthew how Jesus told his disciples that the harvest was abundant and the workers were few, and then he said, “therefore, pray.” Prayer partners are needed for this trip. Send your contact information to [email protected] and we will keep you informed of our team’s prayer needs.

ASSOCIATIONAL MISSION EMPHASIS WEEK: MAY 8—15

What is the Week of Associational Mission

Emphasis?

Gateway Baptist Association works to advance spiritual transformation, reproductive disciple-making, eternally-focused local, national and

international missions, starting new church works, strengthening struggling churches and training leaders to impact the Kingdom of God in Madison County and surrounding counties. It is a blessing to serve over 300,000 people, but a tremendous challenge to reach the estimated 190,000 who claim no relationship with Christ. Every member church of GBA helps us face this monumental task.

Starting new churches, strengthen existing churches, and helping our congregations embrace lifestyle missions comes at a cost.

So where does the money come?

Our only source is the Southern Baptist churches of this area. We receive no income from state or national conventions. It is our prayer that all GBA churches sacrificially support this vision. The Week of Associational Mission Emphasis is to expose the ministries and value of an association. We are your “first-responders” in time of strength and struggle.

The week May 8—15 will emphasize the work of the association and the value of partnership. It culminates with churches receiving an offering for the enhancement of local missions. I hope you and your church will pray for GBA and consider giving a generous love offering. Our goal is for our income and expenditures to soon be in the black every month, so we are able to free up our savings and assets for some God-sized mission movements. We must be fiscally responsible first!

We are grateful for the partnership with you and your church! Pray about promoting the Associational Emphasis Week. Let’s Start Something New!
