1 Thessalonians 5:6-10Wednesday NightFebruary 19, 2014

   6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at 

night.

8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of 

salvation.

9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord 

Jesus Christ,

10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together 

with Him.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Revelation 16:15"Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, 

lest he walk naked and they see his shame." 

2 Peter 3:10-1310 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will

be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in 

holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will

13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new 

earth in which righteousness dwells.

Ephesians 6:11-1311 Put on the whole armor of God, that 

you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against 

principalities, against powers, against the

rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the 

heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and 

having done all, to stand.

sustained Him. 17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head;

Zephaniah 1:14-1814 The great day of the LORD is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the 

day of the LORD is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out. 15 That day is a 

day of wrath, A day of trouble and

distress, A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and 

gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, 16 A day of trumpet and alarm Against the fortified cities And against the high towers. 17 "I will bring distress upon

men, And they shall walk like blind men, Because they have sinned against the 

LORD; Their blood shall be poured out like dust, And their flesh like refuse." 18 

Neither their silver nor their gold Shall be able to deliver them In the day of the

LORD's wrath; But the whole land shall be devoured By the fire of His jealousy, For He will make speedy riddance Of all those 

who dwell in the land.

Revelations 20:11-1511 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, 

standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the 

books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who

were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were 

cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake 

of fire.

Romans 14:9For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both 

the dead and the living. 

1 Corinthians 15:50-5850 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed--

52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised 

incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on 

incorruption, and this mortal must put on

immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be 

brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."  55 "O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, 

where is your victory?" 56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus 

Christ. 

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your 

labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Hebrews 13:8"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, 

and forever"
