NORWAY

My name’s Guille, I’m a student who participate on the Comenius Project,

I’m sixteen and I’m from Vilassar de Mar, a town near Barcelona in Spain.

I could go to Norway on November 2010, to Bulgary on April 2011 or to Ireland on November

2011. From this three destinations I always would choose Norway because it’s the most far-

away country which means that the way of life, culture, weather, traditions… are totally different

than our country. Now I can say that I’ve already travelled, I went to Norway. I’ve been lucky.

When the bus arrived to Storslett, the first thing that I did, just after getting out the bus, was fall

down on that ice floor. My body

could quickly understood that the

weather was extremely cold than

ours. The Norwegian people

dresses like here in autumn, but

we were 6 degrees below zero, of

course they’re used to such a low

temperature.

During my stay in Norway there were many things that surprised me. Always when we arrived to

a house we had to took our shoes out and put there on the hall. Fortunately, thanks to the cold,

my feet did not smell!

I have been a football player since I was five

and I’ve never seen that kind of football. They

could play with the walls doing the ball bouncing

without been penalized as “ball out”. There are

the same number of female teams than male

teams, while in Vilassar de Mar we have two

female teams and the rest are all male teams.

For the Norwegian people, an usual evening activity is to go together to see this football

matches.

From my point of view only one think to emphasize of their school is that they have three grates

of high school instead of two we have in Spain. I agree with this system because you have more

time to learn and prepare your studies from high school.

I know I’m very special to eat, I was very scared of what I could find on the dish. Finally was

better than I expected. Although the reindeer meat and I were not good friends.

I would like to stress that the fame that the Norwegian people are not very friendly is completely

false. I think the Norwegian people are very friendly and they made me felt very comfortable.

They made me some jokes to help me to take out my shyness typical from the first time you

meet somebody. I really enjoy my time

with them.

Finally, I’m very grateful to have had this special opportunity and I will never forget this

wonderful week. Many thanks.

Oaidnaleapmài!
