An article by Tiffany Hsu of the Los Angeles Times says that Americans will spend around 150 million dollars on greeting cards alone! Men and women alike are expected to spend an average of $126.00 on their sweetie for this Holiday. If every one of those purchases were made in locally owned stores, custom jewelers, florists, candy/bake shops or restaurants it would have an enormous economic impact on our region! Northeast Kansas has a wonderful selection of shops that will make your shopping easy. So before you call that national 800 number or head to a large chain store or restaurant remember how much your local businesses appreciate your love, and how much you would miss them if they were to “go away”. This popular phrase comes to mind “Home is Where the Heart is” what a great mantra for making your purchases and finding services everyday….all the year through!
