September 27, 2013 To the attendees of the Northeast District Education Forum: Welcome to beautiful Mystic, CT! For the IAAP Board and myself, we are thrilled that the District has decided to offer this educational event for its members and guests. As some of you are aware, it’s been more than a decade since a district event was scheduled. Leave it to the great Northeast District to be the pioneers in planning and executing, “Navigate Your Career at the Northeast District Education Forum.” My personal thanks and recognition to Sharon McPherson, CAP-OM, 2012-2014 Northeast District Director and the district leaders, who volunteered to serve on the Forum Committee, while executing their leadership roles and responsibilities in other areas. How fortunate the attendees are to hear Keynote Speaker Sandra Cook, Chief Administrative Officer of the Office of Administration for the Executive Office of the President of the United States of America. If her title doesn’t impress you, it should! Her resume speaks volumes of the length and breadth of her experience. Five additional presenters are also on the agenda, providing attendees with unique educational opportunities. You’ll also meet Amy Randolph, Manager, IAAP Membership Marketing, who as a attendee, has chosen to attend in the entire event, to evaluate its value and potential for the future. Be on the lookout for Karlena Rannals, CAP-OM, immediate past board president and current Southwest District Director, and Lina Veglia, immediate past Canada District Director and current Regent for The Foundation of IAAP. Please take the time to introduce yourself. Their combined leadership and professional experience is invaluable and an asset to IAAP. As for myself, I am extremely proud of my former district as they set the leadership and educational bar at the next level. It’s my honor and pleasure to be an attendee and presenter. As IAAP embarks on its race for relevance in the realm of associations, this Forum is an example of why we are the premier association for the administrative career. Sincerely,

Judith A. Yannarelli, CAP-OM

September 27, 2013 Welcome to the Northeast District Fall Education Forum! Welcome to Mystic, Connecticut -- the geographic center of our Northeast District and home to the NE District Fall Education Forum. I am extremely fortunate to extend this greeting on behalf of the Planning Committee who, with the assistance of IAAP members throughout the District, has designed an event to ensure individuals working in office and administrative professions have the opportunity to (re)connect with one another, learn a new trick or two of the trade and, hopefully, be transformed by the experiences which await! This weekend's lineup is not one to be missed...there is an opportunity to network with key vendors who support our industry and learn about their quality products and services, a variety of seminars focused on personal and professional development, and a keynote speaker straight from the Oval Office who promises to offer much insight and inspiration. And then there is Mystic -- much more than a centralized locale. I encourage you to maximize your stay here and explore to the extent you are able during any "free time." Known for the quality and variety of its tourist attractions, I am quite sure that Mystic Coast and Country has something which will appeal to just about anyone. Once again, welcome to Mystic, Connecticut and the NE District Fall Education Forum. I look forward to spending time with you. Most Sincerely,

Sharon K. McPherson, CAP-OM Director, Northeast District
