RELIGIOUS EDUCATION !

Questions about the Religious Education Program may be directed to Sandra Strong, Coordinator at (781) 933!6472 or at [email protected]. !

! First Communion and Confirmation. First Communion was celebrated on Saturday, May 5 at 10:00 and 12:00 Masses. Confirmation took place here on Saturday afternoon, April 21. We are proud of our students who prepared for and received the sacraments and we thank their parents and sponsors who helped bring them to this important moment in their lives.!! !

! Mass Attendance: Weekly attendance at Mass is very important for the spiritual development of chil-dren. Those enrolled in our Religious Education pro-gram are expected to attend Mass regularly. By miss-ing Mass and attending class, children will not fully understand what they are learning. Parents are encour-aged to attend Mass with their children to help in this faith development. ! ! TIME TO HELP FRIENDS OF ST. ANTHONY!It is time to replenish the Friends food supply. Dona-tions of nonperishable items (food and paper prod-ucts) may be brought to church and left in the baskets near our St. Anthony statue. Gift cards and monetary gifts are also welcome. A Giving Box is provided for this purpose. These donations help families and indi-viduals who are experiencing hard economic times, or may be use to help supplement the efforts of the Friends of St. Anthony with their outreach programs. Costume jewelry is needed for the Festival Jewelry Booth sponsored by the Friends. Bring items you no longer want or need, place these in containers for them at back of church or call Pat at (781) 9323488. ! PARISH STEWARDSHIP PRAYER!Lord God, you are the source of every good gift, of the vast array of our Universe and the mystery of each hu-man life. We praise you and we thank you for your great power and your tender faithful love. Everything we are and everything we have is your gift, and after having created us you have given us into the keeping of your son, Jesus Christ. Fill our minds with his truth and our hearts with love that in his spirit we may be bonded together into a community of faith, a parish family, a caring people. In the name of Jesus, we com-mit ourselves to be good stewards of the gifts entrusted to us, to share our time, our talent, our material gifts as an outward sign of the treasures we hold in Jesus. Amen.!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the parishioners of Saint An-thony Parish for the many years of cooperation and support you have shown me as I served the parish as your pastor. Nowhere have I seen the measure of charity that exists in this parish community, with so many of you reaching out to help needy families and individuals, the elderly, the home-bound and others who are struggling with difficulties in their lives. What a wonderful way to follow Jesus’ example of loving and serving one another. I am most pleased that my friend and brother in priesthood, Father Thomas Powers, will now take up my responsibilities as pastor of this parish. He has mastered the concept of collaboration of parishes and his leadership will be vital to the future of both St. Anthony and St. Barbara parishes.!

I leave you with many continued blessings Father Richard J. Shmaruk !

! THANK YOU FROM THE KNIGHTS!The Knights of Columbus Woburn Council #77 wish to thank those who showed support for their charities through the sale of roses on Mothers Day. They have been able to exceed prior contributions to four local prolife organizations. One of them, Heartbeat, is lo-cated next to St Margaret’s Church in Burlington where they would be pleased to show you the good work that they and similar organizations perform. The roses came from Charlie Hardy and his staff at Hillside Florist, and we thank them for their help.!
