NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL REPORT (10) To: HOUSING AND SOCIAL WORK SERVICES COMMITTEE From: ASSISTANT CHIEF EXECUTIVE (ENTERPRISE & HOUSING RESOURCES) Date: 3 NOVEMBER 2016 I Ref: DM/UC/JN Purpose of Report/Introduction 2. 3 Subject SOCIAL WORK CAPITAL PROGRAMME 2016/17 MONITORING REPORT PERIOD 6 (01.04.16— 16.09.16) The purpose of this report is to provide a summary of the spend on the Social Work Capital Programme to period six of financial year 2016/17; advise on projected outturn; and provide key project updates. Expenditure and Projections at Period Six 2.1 As reflected in appendix 1, from a budget of £2,881,110, expenditure to period six is £1,399,799. This figure excludes accruals which were processed at financial year end 2015/16. The projected outturn is £2,776,281. Detailed Project Updates 3.1 Committee is advised of the following project updates: 3.2 3.3 3.4 3.5 Integrated Day Services Older Adults − Cumbernauld (XS009) Whilst there is no budget provision for this project, which concluded on site some time ago, managers are currently working through minor snagging issues prior to retention being released and a minor sum is projected. Integrated Day Services Older Adults − Motherwell (XS01 0) Completion certificate now issued and accrued retention released. No budget remains in this cost centre and project has been completed. Integrated Day Services Older Adults — Airdrie (XS021) This project has completed on site. Following a meeting with the contractor, the outstanding claim amount has been reduced which is positive news. This in turn also means the final fee will be reduced. Overall a credit has now appeared within that budget line which may assist with minor overspends in other areas as the year progresses. Chryston Short Stay Care Service (XS025) This project is now reporting a completion date of 14 October 2016 − a slip of two weeks on period five information. This is due to additional retaining walls having to be constructed around the dwellings which, in turn, has pushed back the external landscaping works. Managers are working with the Care Inspectorate to satisfy registration criteria which may fall into the category of "Care at Home, Housing Support". A report declaring the former Chilterns Care Home surplus to requirements will be submitted to Committee this cycle.
