GHGs

GHG emissions vary widely in their reported amounts. Based on voluntarily reported CY2007 emissions (41 facilities), GHG emissions could range from a fraction of a ton to millions of tons. (No PFCs reported) CO2: 4.1 tons (1,000Hp generator) to 2,128,403.3 tons (Pulp

and Paper Mill) (No EGUs reported). CH4: 0.1 ton (dye & print co.) to 2,297 tons (landfill) N2O: 0.1 ton (dye & print co.) to 177.6 tons (university) HFC: 0.1 ton (aircraft rework) to 1,674 tons (fiber mfg)

On Operating Scenario Screen, GHG pollutant table is the first table; above the Criteria Pollutant table.

The GHG pollutant table heading will be visible even if no GHG pollutants have been selected.

When adding GHGs from the pollutant list to the Operating Scenario, GHGs are listed alphabetically at the top.

AERO handles GHGs the same as other pollutants as far as adding, deleting, grouping and totaling. However, there is no Control Efficiency column in the GHG table.

All GHGs are reported in Short TONS (tons). In the Facility Summary Report (Closeout Page),

CO2 equivalents are calculated and reported below the GHGs as metric tons (tonnes).

Future Enhancements related to GHGs to AERO.

Non-permitted sources that only emit GHGs should be saved this year as U-GHG-XXX. In future years, these sources will be denoted as GHG- (removing the U-).

There will be a column added to the GHG pollutant table for recording the percentage of GHGs that are anthropogenic. The column will have the header, ‘Percent Anthropogenic” and will be located between the ‘Optional Emission Factor Tool’ and ‘Actual Emissions’ columns.

AERO: Adding GHGs to existing source

User will login to AERO using facility id and PIN assigned.

Click on the On-Line Air Emissions Reporting link.

Enter the contact information. Please check email address for accuracy.

Go to Operating Scenario Summary tab.

Click on the OS link for the source.

Enter the annual throughput and operating schedule and save.

Click the Add Pollutants button.

Select GHGs that you wish to add. Shift-left mouse highlights a block of pollutants and Control-left mouse highlights discontinuous pollutants

After you have highlighted all the pollutants that you wish to add, click the Add button.

Enter the emissions data from your calculations or DAQ spreadsheet.

Click the Data Entry Complete button.

The Facility Total Report on the Closeout page will total emissions as you add them and calculate the Carbon dioxide equivalence.

Once all data has been entered, click Submit to DAQ button to complete the submittal.

Go to Emission Sources Tab.

Click on Create New Non-Permitted Source button.

Enter requested information. System will add U- to the description automatically.

Emission Source Type should be External Combustion for Boilers and Stationary Internal Combustion for Generators.

Click Save & Continue.

The system will go back to the Emission Sources page.

The added source will appear, listed alphabetically

On Operating Scenario Summary page, new source will also appear listed alphabetically.

To add an operating scenario, click the Add New Operating Scenario link
