Evacuate the building immediately using the following steps:

Leave the building by the nearest marked exit route

Alert other people to evacuate as you leave

Close all doors to your classrooms, offices, or labs once you are sure that no one is remaining inside. Lock if possible.

High Security areas such as the Business Office and Computer labs will be locked by departmental personnel as they evacuate.

Assist injured or disabled persons in evacuating the building. See specific instructions regarding assisting others below.

Never use or attempt to use elevators. Elevators are programmed to go to the first floor in event of fire alarm activation. If you board an elevator it may stop on the floor where the fire is.

Follow all instructions given by Employees, Administrators, and Security Personnel.

If the area is smoke-filled, stay low to the floor and proceed to the exit. Remember, in a smoke-filled room or hallway, the freshest air is near the floor.
