AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM CLASSES

Earl Johnson will be giving the AARP Safety Program class FREE OF CHARGE to all veterans (Brevard County Only) and their spouse with a DD-1172 ID Card.. Classes will be offered every Wednesday for the month of November.

NON MILITARY The class is also open to Non-military. AARP members $12, and Non-AARP members $14. Florida Law requires automobile insurance companies doing business in Florida to give a discount to those drivers 50 + who take this course.

If you have difficulty walking or simply getting around the center, we have 3 walkers and a wheelchair for you to use to make your visit to the center a pleasant one if you should need it. If you would like to use one of these aids, see the Operations Manager for assistance.

For muscle in storing and retriev-ing heavy boxes of decorations in the storage area is volunteer Pete Mazzatto.

If you would like to join this fun group and help decorate for various activities at the center, contact any of these mem-bers. We have a BLAST!

We’ve been dodging the bullet of hurricanes so far this year. We miss the rain that we need so badly, but not all the other effects of the big “H” storms. Keep your fingers crossed that we continue to be lucky. Your Board of Directors is in the process of approving modifications to your By-Laws. One of the changes is to recognize and allow our local Fire and Police departments to use your facility for department activities at no charge. We are very fortunate to have the services of these great organiza-tions and believe this allowance is little to pay for the outstanding support they provide the NBSC. The finances of your center are still in the black even though we have ex-perienced several large expenses over this past month. We now have SIX (6) new air conditioning units installed in the facility. We are in the process of replacing one of our refrigerators, after 11 years has died on us! We are still looking for modular units to expand our operations. Frank Nutt, our 2nd Vice President, has been trying every avenue to locate units, but has not been successful as yet.
