Who is “Rush”?

For those who don’t know, Rush is a progressive rock band from Canada. In the 40 years since they’ve formed, they’ve developed a loyal cult following, that has been featured in countless articles, documentaries, movies and even the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But until this month, they have yet to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.

Why are they on the cover of Rolling Stone?

“R40 Live” Tour? This show won’t be featuring any opening act, and will feature a number of video vignettes made specifically for the tour. !The tour will wrap up on August 1 at the Forum in Los Angeles. !Band members have said that this could be their final tour.

“Final” tour? Now in their early 60s, the members of Rush are getting old, and their touring style has taken its toll on the band-members after 40 years. !For example, Neil Peart has developed a reputation for precision and stamina, although has developed chronic tendonitis and has problems with his shoulders. !Rush says that they want to end their career on a high note, and don’t want to be like other artists, who keep performing even as their age has seriously affected their quality as performers.

What if I can’t see them tour?Rush has recently released a video box set of 10 DVDs or six Blu-ray discs called “R40”, that includes live footage from all 40 years of the band’s career, in addition to over two hours of previously unreleased material, a rare performance of the band’s “2112” album, three previously unreleased tracks from the start of their career and more.
