MAKING HISTORY

Attentive to the changing needs of the Pima County nonprofit community, a group of stakeholders,

chaired by Jim Click, convened in 2012, to strategize a new type of community loan fund meant to bridge cash flow gaps and help organizations qualify for

conventional bank loans in the future.

WHY? The Nonprofit Loan Fund fills a need not currently being met by any other local private sector or governmental

sources by providing short-term operating loans to qualified nonprofits.

THE FACTS A 2013 national study by the

Nonprofit Finance Fund found: • Nationally, 56% of nonprofits have

90 days or less of cash reserves • 85% expected an increase in

demand for services • Many nonprofits are at risk of going

out of business due to decreased public funds and the prospect of more cuts

Southern Arizona.

A resource for loans up to $50,000, the NPLF is designed to bridge cash flow gaps or support program expansion

while organizations await funding sources such as:

WHO QUALIFIES?

To apply, nonprofit organizations need to meet select requirements, including:

• Status as a 501(c)3 located in Pima County with an annual budget of at least $250,000

• A minimum operating history of three years

• Ability to provide three-year financial statements and tax returns

• Verifiable source of funds for repayment

Nonprofits are unique and their needs are varied. NPLF can help by providing financing so organizations are able to:

Nonprofit organizations interested in applying for a loan are encouraged to visit

nonprofit-loans.org to complete an application

and submit for consideration.

RESOURCES Nonprofit loan experts will work one-on-one with your

organization to customize a short-term loan package with affordable interest rates based on your

organization’s needs.

NPLF provides financial resources and technical assistance to make the process as easy as possible and to ensure that you are involved every step of the way.

• Investors: Pima County Industrial Development Authority, City of Tucson Industrial Development Authority, Habitat for Humanity Tucson

• Charitable Gifts & Grants: Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, BDFC Advisor Services, Diamond Foundation, Goodwill Industries, Community Finance Corp., BMO Harris, The Foundations, Bank of Tucson

• Loan Fees
