Nominations for the Post of President Elect

Dr Rajejendra Singh Sinam

My dear fellows of the Urological Society of India. My name is Dr Sinam Rajendra Singh, I am a

urologist and I am from Imphal, Manipur who is contesting for the post of the president USI. Do

allow me to give you all a brief bio-data about myself in the field of medical science. I did my

MBBS from Alleppy Medical College, Kerala (1970-1975) on a scholarship and I was the best out-

going student from that college. I continued my M.S. General Surgery (1977-1980) and M.Ch. in

urology (1980-1983) in Kerala but from another college (Trivandrum Medical College). Later in

the year 1984 I joined my present institute i.e. Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and I am

presently serving there as a Professor and HOD of Urology department. We have been imparting

training to two M.Ch. trainees each year in urology in this institute from the year 2010 and which was subsequently

recognized by MCI.

My association with the USI is long and rewarding. Even as a M.S. student I attended the USI conference which was held

at Trivandrum Medical College in the year 1978 where Prof. David Joseph was the organizing secretary. I have served

the society in various capacities through out my association with it. I have served as a council member of USI for a full

term from 1996 and also as a president in the USI East Zone in 2010. I have organized the east zone USI conference in

the year 1995 at Imphal. I was also awarded travelling fellowship by USI (east zone)

I have served as a council member of ASI, Hon. Secretary of IMA and ASI (Manipur state chapter). I have served as the

president of Medical Society at RIMS. Served as a senate member at Manipur University. I am presently serving as a

member in Manipur Medical Council.

I was fortunate to go to china as a GOI delegate for training on NSV from Prof. Li. I have travelled extensively through

out our country for attending conferences and conducting examination for MCh students and have delivered three

orations. Due to this traveling and my early medical education from the south, I can proudly say that I can read and write

four languages namely, Hindi, English, Malayalam and Manipuri.

After going through the various achievements and qualities of mine, I hope and pray that you all find me an able and fit

candidate to be the president in this great society of ours i.e. USI. I once again appeal all of you to give me this

opportunity to serve as a president and cast your valuable vote for me.

Long live USI
