interview

Page 12: nokia ppt

Primary Data Collection - Primary data is the first hand

information obtained by investigator. Primary source is one itself

collects the data. Primary data can be collected by observation, by

interviews, by face to face questioning, by using questionnaire when

the needed data do not exist or are dated , inaccurate ,incomplete, or

unreliable.

Page 14: nokia ppt

HISTORY:The history of mobile phones begins with early efforts to develop radio telephone technology

1945 zero generation mobiles

1970 AMOS JOEL added hand off feature to it

Martin Cooper of Motorola is widely considered to be the inventor of the first practical mobile phone for handheld use in a non-vehicle setting on April3, 1973

Page 15: nokia ppt

Features of mobile phone:

All mobile phones have a number of features in common, but manufacturers also try to differentiate their own products by implementing additional functions to make them more attractive to consumers.

The important components for functionality of cell includes the following.

a. Power supply and Battery

b. SIM card

c. Antenna

d. Speaker and micro phone

e. Key pad and display

Page 17: nokia ppt

Battery & Power supply:

Mobile phones generally obtain power from rechargeable batteries.

There are a variety of ways used to charge cell phones, including USB, portable batteries,

mains power (using an AC adapter),

cigarette lighters (using an adapter),

or a dynamo. In 2009, the first wireless charger

was released for consumer use. Some manufacturers have been

experimenting alternative power sources including solar cells.

Page 18: nokia ppt

SIM card:

GSM mobile phones require a small micro chip , called a Subscriber Identity Module or SIM card, to function

Each SIM Card is activated by use of a unique numerical identifier; once activated, the identifier is locked down and the card is permanently locked in

to the activating network. Currently there are three types

of SIM cards in the market as

shown in picture. Those cell phones that do not

use a SIM Card have the data programmed into their memory.

Page 19: nokia ppt

Antenna:

An antenna (or aerial) is an electrical device which converts electrical into radio waves, and vice versa. It is usually used with a radio transmitter or receiver.

The main function of

antenna is to transmit

and receive the signals

between users. It

converts voice signals

to electrical signals and

transmits. The antennas are also used to track location of mobiles by using

GPS

Page 20: nokia ppt

DISPLAY:

A liquid crystal display is the most common display type among mobile phones because of its low power consumption and good image quality. They are generally

easy to read, even under direct

sunlight.

The latest technology includes

AMOLED(active-matrix

organic light-emitting diode),Super AMOLED displays

Page 21: nokia ppt

KEY PAD:

A keypad is a set of buttons arranged in a block or "pad" which usually bear digits, symbols and usually a complete set of alphabetical letters.

The main functionality of key

pad is to dial the numbers and

to send text messages. There are two types of key pads

named normal keypad and qwerty

key pad as shownNowadays these keypads are replaced by touchpads
