Cigarette Recycling

We shipped our first package

of butts, plastic wrap and tin-

foil liners to Terracycle.ca this

past week. So, if you don’t like

butts around your neighbour-

hood or your work, set up a sign (available at the

Welcome Desk) and join our mission and help us

raise some funds. There is a huge harvest out

there! You can leave your harvested materials in a

tied up plastic bag, tin, or other container marked

– BUTTS” at the Supper Table.

Music Trivia Fundraiser Music trivia buffs, we need you to form teams and

have fun on May 27th, from 7-10 pm. Even if

you’re running in the Ottawa race weekend that

day, we want you to run to make your team of

eight to the fundraiser for St. Joe’s Supper Table.

Tickets are $400 per team. Visit stjsuppertable.ca

your workplace, friends, and neighbourhood!

National Poverty Reduction Plan

Lend your voice to the government on the topic of

creating a National Poverty Reduction plan. You

can fill out an online form through the Citizens for

Public Justice website. https://cpj.ca/help-build-

strong-canadian-anti-poverty-plan

So far, from our own survey of concerns from the

community at the Supper Table, affordable hous-

ing, affordable dental care, and jobs are at the top

of the list for our guests.

Meal Program Needs: lunch bags, garlic, sliced

bread, sliced cheese, and sandwich meat. Thanks!

Counters Corner—We are very delighted to

receive your donations. But, we want to see that you get

the most from your contributions. Any cumulative annual

donation under $10 does not receive a tax receipt unless

you are using a registered envelope or have automatic

withdrawal. If you are using a visitor envelope, please

ensure that your name and address are clearly marked on

the envelope in order to receive a tax receipt at the end of

the year. Registered parishioners, if you forget your en-

velope and use a guest envelope, please be sure to write

your name, address, and envelope number on the guest

envelope. Registered parishioners can also sign up for

automatic withdrawal which does away with envelopes

all together! Parishioners also have the option to sign up

with Canada Helps and designate the parish as your do-

nation recipient. See the Welcome Desk for more infor-

One-on-One Experience of Healing Touch The next session will take place on Friday,

April 7 from 9:30- 11:30 am. Come if your

anxiety or losses in your life or if you have

Yoga for Women with Valérie Pariseau

Mondays, 7 – 8 pm from April 3rd until June 5th (apart from April 17th & May 22nd) ABSOLUTELY FREE

Come and join us for a free one-hour yoga session where you

will get to re-center and re-connect with yourself. You will be

lead through simple, yet effective poses that will help you

strengthen and stretch your entire body.

Valérie is a professional fitness instructor and has been teach-

ing group fitness for over 20 years. She has recently launched

her own business named Inspirit Group Fitness and yoga is a new path for Valérie. All

you need is a yoga mat (if you don’t have one, Valérie has a few mats available for you to

borrow), a towel, and a water bottle.
