Baby Massage Classes
Our courses are taught over 4 weeks, to give both the parent and baby time to learn and
become comfortable with the massage. Each week parents learn strokes for a new part of the
body while reviewing strokes from previous classes. New techniques are learned and
previously learned information is reinforced. We teach a little at a time to ensure that you are
confident with every aspect. The strokes and styles of baby massage are easier to grasp
when demonstrated by our experienced instructors. Pressure, rate, rhythm, the length of
the massage, respect, bonding, why baby cries, baby’s body language, positioning of the
baby, relaxation and parent empowerment are some of the skills and topics that will be
discussed. To Pre-Register for this FREE course call 369-6807:

Safe to Sleep Campaign This is a national campaign to make parents and other caretakers, (i.e. members of the family, babysitters, daycare workers, etc.) of infants aware of the proper way to place an infant down for a nap or at bedtime. In placing an infant on its back for sleep you are helping to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related causes of infant death, SIDS is the sudden, unexplained death of a baby younger than 1 year of age that doesn’t have a known cause even after a complete investigation by medical officials. TIPS: ∆ Babies sleep safest on their backs; ∆ Use a firm sleep surface, covered by a fitted sheet, to reduce the risk of SIDS and other sleep -related causes of infant death; ∆ MOST IMPORTANTLY! Your baby should never sleep in an adult bed, nor, on the couch, or on a chair alone, with you or with anyone else!
If you are interested in more information you should contact

Your teenager not only needs rules and boundar ies , t hey a lso subconsciously want rules and boundaries because it actually shows that you are invested in their well being. One of the most beneficial things you can do for your teenager is to set rules and boundaries and outline the consequences for breaking those rules. But here’s the catch. Setting rules and boundaries and outlining consequences is worth nothing if you’re not willing to follow through with implementing those consequences. You hand over the power to your teenager if you go back on your word, and the only thing they learn is that your word means nothing and everything can be tested.

Fathers Are Important to Kids - The Effects of Father-FULLness
According to a Gallup Poll, 90.3 percent of Americans agree that "fathers make a unique
contribution to their children's lives." Source: Gallup Poll, 1996. National Center for Fathering. "Father Figures."
Father involvement makes a difference in kids’ emotional lives. From a study based on
17,000 children born in the United Kingdom in 1958 who were followed up with at ages 7,
11, 16, 23 and 33:
• Children with involved fathers have less emotional and behavioral difficulties in
adolescence Teenagers who feel close to their fathers in adolescence go on to have more
satisfactory adult marital relationships. • Girls who have a strong relationship with their fathers during adolescence showed a
lack of psychological distress in adult life. Source: Dr. Eirini Flouri & Ann Buchanan, “Involved Fathers Key
for Children,” Economic & Social Research Council, March 2002.
A survey of over 20,000 parents found that when fathers are involved in their children's
education including attending school meetings and volunteering at school, children were
more likely to get A's, enjoy school, and participate in extracurricular activities and less
likely to have repeated a grade. Source: Fathers' Involvement in Their Children's Schools. National Center for
Education Statistics. Washington DC: GPO, 1997.

You can help your child become independent, while building his or her sense of responsibility and self-confidence at the same time. Here are some suggestions:
● Spend time with your child. Talk with her about her friends, her accomplishments, and what challenges she will face. Make clear rules and stick to them.
Be involved with your child’s school. Go to school events; meet your child’s teachers.
Encourage your child to join school and community groups, such as a team sport, or to take advantage of volunteer opportunities. Talk with her about her homework.
Help your child develop his own sense of right and wrong. Talk with him about risky things friends may pressure him to do, like smoking or dangerous physical dares.
Help your child develop a sense of responsibility—involve your child in household tasks. Talk to your child about saving and spending money wisely. Help your child set his own goals.
