Nitai Airwriting is practiced as follows: Write “नताइ” (the Nitai mantra in Sanskrit) in the air very large with your forefinger and clearly visualize the shapes of each of its ten syllables as

they are forming in the air one by one by the persistence of vision. Repeat for at least 108 times (1 round) daily, in addition to the japa and kirtan of 16­64 rounds of the Hare Krishna mahamantra. 1 round of Nitai Airwriting = Writing and Visualizing नताइ in the air 108 times. Do as many rounds as you wish daily. You may rest your elbow on a surface while writing in the air. Eyes can be either open or closed, whichever helps you to visualize the rasa­filled syllables of नताइ more clearly. Ram Ram Hare Hare The Pancha Tattva Mantra to be chanted one or thrice before each round of Hari Nam is as follows: Shri Krishna Chaitanya, Prabhu Nityananda, Shri Advaita, Gadadhara, Shrivasadi Gaur Bhakta Vrinda After Nitai Airwriting and Hari Nam Japa and Kirtan, you can perform Nitai Kirtan by daily singing the most liberal names, songs, prayers, verses, and pastimes of Lord Nitai (Nitai Lila) to experience the Nam ecstasies. Nitai Airwriting is a very secret process. Air means vayu and writing means lekhan in Sanskrit. One may not find many direct scriptural proofs for it but there are numerous references to the process of writing Mantras and the glories of the

Syllables of the Holy Names of God. The Gaudiya Vaishnav succession presents many esoteric truths and processes which are completely in conformity with the Vedic texts but are too confidential to be openly mentioned in the scriptures. We are aware that even though Shrimati Radharani is central to the Gaudiya Vaishnav path of Bhakti still Her name is not so explicitly mentioned in the scriptures. The speciality of Gaudiyas (Rupanugas) is Manjari­bhav, that is, the servitude of Shrimati Radharani in one’s spiritual form. This confidential Manjari­bhav is considered the summum bonum of all spiritual attainments. Is it directly mentioned in the scriptures? No. We are trying to highlight the fact that the highest subject matters are deliberately kept hidden in the scriptures because everyone is not so fortunate or qualified to

access them. We agree that everything cannot be included in the list of such highly esoteric truths but it is also true that nothing should be denied blindly without verification. Such a blind rejection would be anything but reasonable. A salient feature of all these esoteric truths is that they never contradict the fundamentals of devotional service but always supplement them. Moreover, such esoteric truths should be significantly higher in terms of their purposefulness than the general truths mentioned in the scriptures. It is our firm belief that Nitai Airwriting is also another such esoteric truth which: does not have an iota of contradiction with the fundamentals of devotion

2. Nitai Airwriting is a Form of Mantra Writing

Mantra writing is accepted by hundreds of spiritual organizations and communities all over the world. It is a very ancient practice used by spiritual aspirants to enhance their level of attention, absorption, and retention of the various features of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Many organizations even preach it as their only principal form of Sadhana. Most of them recommend writing particular Mantras in an empty book with a pen or pencil. However, we suggest writing with one’s finger in the air as it allows coming in direct contact with the Holy Name.

It is always advised to the students that they write their lessons, instead of mere reading or uttering them, so that they permanently settle down in their mind. Thus, it is quite evident that writing something is always much more effective than simply uttering or thinking about it. The purpose of Nitai airwriting is to deeply carve the name of the Lord in our minds and hearts so that our deep rooted misgivings are completely displaced forever.

3. Direct Scriptural Proofs of Nitai Vayulekhan

A. The Air From Nitai’s Form or Name Grants Krishna to Everyone

ihana vatasa lagibeka jara gaya tahareo krishna na chadibe sarvathaya

Chaitanya Bhagavata, Madhya Khanda 12.58: “Krishna will never leave a person who is touched by the air which has touched Nitai.” Nitai’s name and form are the same. So by Nitai Airwriting, the airwriter is not only granting Krishna to himself or herself but also to all the souls who come in contact with that air in which नताइ was written by him or her.

B. Airwriting is 100 times more beneficial than Japa

Sage Valmiki writes in the Ananda Ramayan: japat sata gunam punyam rama nama pralekhane.

Translation: In the Vaishnava Tantra it is stated: “Writing the Mantra with full concentration is one hundred times more beneficial and powerful than oral Japa chanting.” Note: This verse is mentioned in Vaishnav Tantras which are the principal guiding books for Kali Yuga. Ontologically, Nitai Balaram is even higher than Lord Ram as Ram is an expansion of Nitai. Hence, this verse is naturally applicable in the case of Nitai Nam as well. Besides Ram also means Nitai Balaram.

C. Airwriting fulfills all the innermost desires

Brihan­Naradiya Purana says: Smarnaat kirtanachchaiv shravanal­LEKHANAADAPI DARSHANA dwarnadev Rama­naam­akhileshtadam

Translation: “All the innermost desires of a person are fulfilled by remembering, loudly chanting, hearing, WRITING, and VISUALIZING Lord Ram’s Holy Names.” In the above verse, two words which clearly support the process of airwriting are: (i) Lekhan (Writing the Holy Name) (ii) Darshan (Meditating on, visualizing, or simply seeing the Holy Name). Airwriting involves both “lekhan” and “darshan” as one has to write Nitai’s Name with one’s finger while clearly visualizing and deeply meditating on each and every Sanskrit syllable that is being written in the air.

D. Lord Ram’s Name was “WRITTEN” on the stones

We wish to highlight the fact, by citing this example from Ramayan, that the “written” version of the Holy Name is also equally if not more potent than the “aural” Holy Name. Only considering the aural Holy Name to be non­different from the Lord and not the written Name is limiting the almighty Name. If the principle of non­difference between Nam (Holy Name of the Lord) and Naami (Possessor of the Holy Name) did not hold true for the written Holy Name then the stones thrown by the monkeys with the written Name would have drowned in the ocean. It was only by the power of the written Holy Name that they floated on the water so that the bridge could be made. Even when Lord Ram Himself threw the stones in the sea, they drowned. But the stones which had His Name written on them floated. This also proves that His

written name is even more merciful than His own self.

E. Mantra Writing made Lord Ganesh so glorious

Whoever goes around the world and comes back first shall be worshipped first. Ganeshji was disappointed by this condition of the demigods, but at the request of Naradji; Ganeshji wrote the name of “Krishna” in Sanskrit on a tulasi leaf and went around it. Due to this, he was considered the first to circumambulate the whole creation as the Sanskrit syllables of God’s name include the whole creation. After this, it was unanimously decided among the demigods and by Brahma himself that all religious ceremonies would begin with Ganesh worship first. Thus, after knowing this importance of the

syllables of Krishna’s name from his Gurudev Narada, Ganeshji became the one to be worshiped first in the universe.

F. Holy Names are written on the body of a Vaishnav

In the most authentic Vaishnava Manual Shri Hari­Bhakti­Vilasa compiled by the great Acharya Shrila Gopala Bhatta Goswami and commented on by the great Mahabhagavata Shrila Sanatana Goswami, a Vaishnav is recommended to write/draw the Holy Names of the Lord on his own body. This is another proof of the fact that the Syllables or the written form of the Holy Names are equally powerful and spiritually significant as the Transcendental sound of the Holy Name.

4. Airwriting is a Form of Mansika Japa

The lexical definition of japa is to repeat either mentally, or verbally a word or phrase or sentence, several times over. Airwriting forces the mind to focus on the syllables of the Nitai Mantra which are completely non­different from the Mantri (Nitai) Himself and thus the deepest Mansika Japa automatically takes place. Everybody knows that Mental Japa is more powerful and meditative than oral chanting and is as good as samadhi or deep meditation, as confirmed in the Hari Bhakti Vilasa. But the general people in this degraded age are not qualified to perform it directly. In such a condition, Nitai Airwriting is a very easy, simple, fruitful, and practicable alternative form of Mansika Japa which awards the same benefit that one derives by doing normal Mansika Japa without sleeping.

5. Allows Meditation on the Meanings of Each Syllable

In the 17th Chapter of Hari Bhakti Vilasa, it is mentioned: dhiya yad akshara­shrenya varnad varnam padat padam | sabdartha­cintanabhyasah sa ukto manaso japah ||158|| “Manasika Japa or Mental chanting means the repeated and intense practice of deep contemplation and meditation on the meaning of each and every Syllable of the Mantra in one's heart as one slowly progresses from one syllable or part of the Mantra to another while chanting it mentally.” Nitai Airwriting is one of the most appropriate method of chanting the Holy

Name in the above manner wherein we can meditate very deeply on each and every syllable which composes the Holy Name. No other process allows such a deep contemplation on the meanings of the Syllables of a Mantra. We are aware of different meanings of each name of God but are we able to meditate on them in practical terms as we chant? No. Thus, this is another advantage of Airwriting based on the injunctions of the Scriptures.

6. Shrila Gaurkishor das Babaji’s Recommendation

A devotee came to Shrila Gaurkishor das Babaji Maharaj and told Him that he had been chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra for quite some time but he was not getting the desired results and realizations. Babaji Maharaj asked Him to write the Hare Krishna Mahamantra in big size in his house and to deeply meditate

on each and every syllable while chanting the Mahamantra. You won’t believe that Babaji Maharaj gave that person an assurance that he will get Darshan of Shyamsundar within just one year if he did what he had suggested.

7. Even Atheists Become Liberated

Let us have a look at Chaitanya Bhagavata, Antya Khanda, Chapter 5, Verse 358: pasandi o dekhilei matra kare stuti sarvasva dibare sei kshane haya mati “Even the atheists who saw Nitai offered Him respects and considered offering everything to Him.” Previously, we proved that there is no difference between Nitai and the syllables of His Holy Name. Looking at the syllables

of Nitai’s Name is as good as looking at Nitai Himself on the Transcendental plane. Thus, we are very glad to declare that the Syllables of Nitai’s Name have such tremendous power that great atheists will become liberated souls simply by looking at Them. That is why we have plans to broadcast Nitai Airwriting in all ways possible so that people of all kinds of beliefs can become liberated souls simply by writing or seeing the Sanskrit syllables (नताइ) of Nitai’s name.

8. Abundance of Testimonials

It is not very surprising that we are receiving heaps of wonderful testimonials from devotees all over the world who voluntarily share their experiences of Nitai Airwriting. Personal experience counts a lot as it is the greatest motivation for a devotee. A Sadhana which is addictive in nature is naturally very effective in bringing

(1) Nitai Airwriting purifies our sense of touch (sparsh) because touching नताइ's name is touching the Supreme Lords Krishna Balaram Themselves.

(2) Nitai Airwriting sanctifies our eyes by giving us direct darshan (vision) of God because the syllables of नताइ's name are God Himself even more so than the installed Deity forms of God. (3) Nitai Airwriting divinifies our mind as नताइ's syllables gets imprinted in our consciousness and destroy all our sins in the past, present, and future. (4) Nitai Airwriting fulfills all our desires and gives true peace, bliss, and love because Nitai is the most merciful Lord in the past, present, and future.

10. Nitai Airwriting is the Real Ragamarg to Hari Nam Nitai Airwriting increases the remembrance of pastimes exponentially and remembrance is the essence of raganuga

bhakti. Writing नताइ in the air is equal to directly touching the Lord and seeing His form face to face as it manifests from the syllables of नताइ. By Nitai Airwriting, we enter into Nitai Gaur’s and Radha Krishna’s nitya­lila (eternal pastimes), purify the air of the whole creation, and eradicate our ten offenses in the mahamantra. We also save ourselves from the irresistable mayic attacks of our senses, and experience true bliss and ecstatic symptoms in kirtan, japa, and all limbs of bhakti. Nitai Airwriting is the easiest personal worship of the Lord by offering Him our false ego in the form of our forefinger. The syllables of नताइ are exactly the same yet even more merciful than the most liberal Lord Nitai Balaram Himself. It is repeatedly stated in the scriptures by our acharyas that Nitai’s divine body is the

playground of Lord Gaur Krishna and wherever Nitai is, Gaur Krishna is always there. So नताइ’s magical syllables include Lord Gaur Krishna without doubt as confirmed in Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.6.29: “Please know with certainty that Lord Krishna always resides in Nitai’s body.” Therefore, please do not squander this ONLY chance to quickly and truly advance in raganuga­bhakti towards the ekadasha­bhav (the eleven characteristic features) of your siddha­deha (spiritual form) just by a few minutes of नताइ airwriting daily in addition to the japa and kirtan of the Hare Krishna mahamantra! Nitai Airwriting has a miraculous effect on the quality of chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra. Firstly, it makes the mind so calm and peaceful that when you chant or sing after airwriting your mind will not wander here and there. It enables us to

chant the Hare Krishna Mahamantra with rapt attention with our minds and hearts fully focused on the transcendental form and pastimes of the Lord. Secondly, it melts our heart and diminishes our false ego in such a way that we naturally feel a taste on our tongue while chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra. Lastly, we feel instant relief from all kinds of offenses and sinful reactions after doing it as Nitai is the most merciful Lord who forgives all our repeated mistakes and offenses in a way no one else does. Thus, Nitai Airwriting gives an extremely powerful, vivid, and multi­faceted boost to the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra.

11. Let’s Conclude

Our sole intention of selflessly propagating this secret process of Nitai Airwriting is to share the miraculous spiritual growth that we all are experiencing by it, towards perfection in Harinam and Premabhakti. We are strict followers of the Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Vinoda Sarasvata disciplic succession so we do not practice or preach something which is either against the Siddhanta or is a product of mental concoction. Mantra Writing is an ancient practice and is commonly known as Likhita Japa or Mantra Lekhan. As the name suggests, it is just another form of chanting which is performed by writing the Mantra. Many sages and spiritual leaders in the past and present have glorified the process of Mantra

Writing. There are multiple references in the scriptures which directly or indirectly glorify it. We are propagating Mantra writing in its most original and powerful form by doing it directly with our finger in the air without any via medium, thereby directly touching Nitai Nam. Moreover, it is not only that the process is highly effective, the mantra “नताइ” (Nitai) is in itself the most liberal, magnanimous, beneficial, and fruitful Name of God, that can be freely taken shelter of by the grossly offensive souls in this degraded age of Kali, in order to attain perfection in the Hare Krishna mahamantra. Our right forefinger represents our false ego. Nitai is the only merciful Lord Who cares to smash it with His divine club. It also stands for pointing others’ faults in the form of Vaishnav aparadha. Again, Nitai is the only Lord who removes these severest
