Subclavian Steal Syndrome

Proximal subclavian artery stenosis resulting in reversal of flow through ipsilateral vertebral artery into subclavian.

Symptoms – pre-syncope, syncope, vertigo, falls, ocular problems, arm pain.

Repair with limb or neurologic symptoms.

Diagnosis – gold standard is angio.

Tx – PTA + stent Common carotid to subclavian bypass
