1000 liters were prepared and the cost of one liter was Rs: 23.75. It was prepared manually in drums. Biopesticides
All the vegetables and sunflower was managed by bio-pesticides named Naturalus-I, Bio-pesticide; derived from garlic and green peppers; rosin is used as adhesive material so that the foliar spray can stick on the leaves of crop and finally taramera oil is used for emulsification; As this formulation is water based and it becomes dry very rapidly; So this oil keep the bio-pesticide active for 72-hours. Naturalus –I is effective against Aphids, Jassids and Army worms; which has been tested on different crops. It is observed in severe populations 2nd application is must after 1st application to get good results; However it is recommended to apply the Bio-pesticides at the ETL’s [Economic thresh hold levels]of insect
checked for its proper depth and plant to plant distance.
Germination-29.07.09 Ø Germination of sunflower
started which is normal within 5-days.
Weather affect Ø Sowing of sunflower has
three rains showers [27th 28th after midnight 29th after midnight]
Ø Rain water may have worse affect on plane sowing and shallow area’s where the rain water stands for longer time.
1st spray was given to sunflower against sucking insects with micronutrients. Wheat was treated with micronutrients and humic acid as foliar; Yeast was also sprayed against rust as fungicide.
Citrus was sprayed with micronutrients and biopesticide to manage the withertip; sucking insects; fruit drop and nutrient deficiencies.
Trainings conducted regarding the organic farming using the tunnel technology to make it more successful.

Experts: 1 Dera Wadan SSO 2 M. Siddiq SSO 3 Riaz Alam SO 4 M. Azhar Javaid SSO The farmers were trained regarding Vegetable growing;
Seed production; Fruit plant nursery raising and Organic Farming. Farmers were trained especially in the Organic Farming; so that they can sustain & were made experts in the following;
1- Preparation of Bio-compost.
2- Preparation of Organic nutrients.
3- Preparation of Bio-pesticides.
All the formulae were explained and were also given in written form; So that they can prepare and use accordingly.
Apart from the training a tool-kit was provided to the selected farmers; which contains Seeds of 5-vegetables; Bio-compost bag [5-kg]; Daranti; Khurpa; Kasola; Shower bucket and printed chart regarding the complete information on vegetables.
Some shoulder knapsack spray machines were also distributed free of cost to the farmers of Swat & Bunir.
Both of the programs were well managed.
The Mardan Team has also initiated Organic Farming at small level; visited different fields of vegetables.
These farmers were growing Brinjal; Tomato; Turnips; Radish & Peas organically.
Persimmon is the fruit found growing 100% organically; which needs their proper orchard development to get higher profits.
One young plant of Persimmon yields about 350 kg’s; if sown 75-plants per acre will give maximum profit; which seems the highest so far.
The main issue of farmers is water; they need peter engines to pump the water to their fields; as the water flows at very low level and their fields are on higher levels. Approximately 60-farmers were trained and distributed free tool-kits in two days training progrme held at Kishora & Jamalabad. Found very good farmers bank with the Mardan Team; which contains more than 500-farmers and it’s a good platform to develop new technologies at the farmer’s field.
