I am Nina. I was born on a hot summer day in a big braided basket. There were five of us – blind , soft pellets .

Mum was taking care of us and feeding us so we grew up fast. In play-time, soon it was time when I had to go to school.

I sad goodbye to my brothers and mum. I was sad, but I knew that I had to go to school.

In school I meet many new friends who were like brothers to me. I was there two years. Every one of us studied hard like real students.

After I finished school, I moved in with a girl Zrinka whom I helped because she was blind. I was taking her for a walk and I took care of her in traffic.

There were funny and sad days. I loved Zrinka and I was glad to help her. She loved me very much, too!

I love you, Nina!

I love you, too!

We grew up. One day, Zrinka started packing and I wasn’t clear why. “Is Zrinka going to leave me?” – I wondered.

But when she started packing my things, too I knew that we were moving out. I was relieved. We moved to Zagreb. Zrinka was sad because she was away from her family. I tried really hard to make her happy.

We were walking in the streets of Zagreb full of danger. I was even more careful

guiding her.

There I made a new friend, Buga. She had the same coat as me – black. We became good friends and loved to help our girls.

I became older and I couldn’t move on the stairs a lot. It was time for retirement. That means I didn’t have to work anymore.

A girl called Izidora and her mum came for me. I hid under the table and looked at them distrustfully.

However, I liked them so I happily went with them to their village. Zrinka explained them everything about me, put a leash on me and I said goodbye to her and Buga.

That was how I got to the village Podbrest where Izidora lives. I have become good friend with my Izidora. We go for a walk often and we play ball. I rest a lot because I am very old now. Everyone loves me and takes care of me.

In the end I can tell you this: “I like it here very much. I enjoy it! That was a story about me, Nina, the guide dog for the blind.”
