RUHNU MUSEUMRUHNU, RUHNU VALD. OPENING HOURS FOR THE MUSEUM NIGHT: 18–23.

The museum and its nearly two-centuries-old Korsi farmhouse, unique in Estonia for its foundationless longhouse and humped roof, are open for the Museum Night.

SAAREMAA MUSEUM – KURESSAARE EPISCOPAL CASTLELOSSIHOOV 1, KURESSAARE LINN. OPENING HOURS FOR THE MUSEUM NIGHT: 18–23.

18.00 Musical welcome by a brass band in front of the castle

18.05 The Museum Night is declared open with the castle cannon “Kotkas” (“Eagle”)

18.15 Group hug (in folk costumes) for the castle

18.15 The hug is accompanied by music from the brass band

19.00 Patterns between the castle towers by Slackline virtuoso Jaan Roose

19.30 The castle is filled with music by students of Kuressaare Music School (in various rooms of the castle)

Activities for children organised by Kuressaare youth centre “Noortejaam” (“Youth Station”) (in the Session Hall)

19.30 Guided tour of the castle courtyard (assembly point: in front of the castle)

20.00 Band plays music (in the tower cafe)

23.00 The castle closes its doors (exit stays open until 24.00)

Cafes are open in the Pink Hall on the main floor and in the defensive tower!

MUHU MUSEUMKOGUVA, MUHU. OPENING HOURS FOR THE MUSEUM NIGHT: 18–23.

We will begin at 18.00 in the yard of Tooma farm with patterns of folk dancing, folk costumes and musical instruments.

Performances by female groups “Tokkroes” (from Muhu) and “Pääsukesed” (from Tallinn).

Several exhibitions will be opened. Children can take part in crafting, drawing and colouring of patterns in the old Koguva schoolhouse. The museum shop is open for visitors.

SAAREMAA MUSEUM – THE AAVIK FAMILY HOUSE MUSEUMVALLIMAA 7, KURESSAARE. OPENING HOURS FOR THE MUSEUM NIGHT: 18–22.

The museum features a permanent exhibition (in Estonian and English) on the life and work of Estonian language moderniser Johannes Aavik and his cousin, cultural figure Joosep Aavik. In addition, the interior of the museum gives a good glimpse of the urban life of early 20th-century Kuressaare.

SAAREMAA MUSEUM – MIHKLI FARM MUSEUMVIKI VILLAGE, KIHELKONNA BOROUGH. OPENING HOURS FOR THE MUSEUM NIGHT: 18–22.

For this Suvistelaupäev (Whitsun Eve), we will gather in the birch-decorated living room of Mihkli Farm to spend a jolly evening together. No other holiday in the Estonian folk calendar is associated with customs so festive as Suvistepüha (Whitsun/Pentecost). It is a time of elation over the awakening of nature, beauty of blossoms and arrival of summer.

Festive spirit is kept up by an accordion player. A cafe is open for visitors.

MUHU HERITAGE SCHOOLLIIVA, MUHU ISLAND. OPENING HOURS FOR THE MUSEUM NIGHT: 18–21.

18.00 Presentation on the historical interior of the pastorate and its prospective future design

19.00–21.00 Workshop on creating historical interior patterns with traditional methods. Please note that the activities can result in spatters and stains on clothes, and dress accordingly.

Muhu St. Catherine’s Church is also open for visitors.
