10.7% in 17-member zone; Credit ratings for 9 Euro nations cut by S&P (Jan 2012)

– US economy recovering – 3.0% growth in Q411; Inflation at 2.9%; Unemployment down to

8.30% (Jan 2012) from 8.50%
