Our collective impact …• Our members raise: about £30 million per year for international development (plus £ millions more through Scottish branches of UK wide bodies)• Members mobilise: 7,662 volunteers in Scotland supporting international development work
Our collective impact …• Members work in countries across Africa, Asia, South and Central America, Caribbean, Middle East, and Eastern Europe• Working with their partners in these countries, they work to: improve access to health, education, livelihoods, security and other human rights• Also in Scotland – changing policy and raising public awareness, including fair trade
Our collective advocacy …• Improving policy – in Scotland (e.g. members input to International Development policy, Scotland Climate Act)• Improving policy – in host countries, with partners and local communities• Improving policy – internationally contributing to international alliances and solidarity – e.g. Make Poverty History, Climate Campaigns, G20, Aid Effectiveness • Changing lifestyles in Scotland

In September 2010 – we launched a pilot Effectiveness Tool: http://tinyurl.com/34arszc (Thanks to funding from the Scottish Government)Two other funders have fed back that they think it is an excellent tool: Comic Relief and Big Lottery

reduction worldwide.
Reasons to be better...
1. 1.4 billion people need us to be – and MDG 2015 deadline is round the corner
2. Resources are scarce and we need to use them to the best of our ability
3. Scotland is a small player – but if we work better together we could make a more effective contribution
