• Nicor Gas serves the northern third of Illinois, excluding Chicago
• Over 2 million customers in 643 communities
Why Energy Efficiency Programs?
• Senate Bill 1918 signed July 10, 2009, established energy efficiency targets for natural gas utilities
• Now section 8-104 of the Public Utilities Act, requires gas utilities to implement EE programs to reach targets
• During the EEP timeframe, Act requires:– 0.2% reduction from 2009 deliveries by May 31, 2012;– An additional 0.4% by May 31, 2013, increasing total savings
to 0.6%; and– An additional 0.6% by May 31, 2014, increasing total savings
to 1.2% in the first three years.

efficient choices in new and existing residential homes and businesses
