DIRECTOR ’S NOTE
Welcome to the 2010-2011 Nicolet Theatre Season!
The 2010-2011 Theatre Season is all about opportunity: opportunity for all ages to see classic and contemporary theatre, opportunity for our ac-tors to be involved in a lot of different style productions, opportunity for our crew to be truly active keeping up with the technical demands of the year, and opportunity for our students to work with ten different directors. It’s going to be a busy year and we hope you will be along for the fun.
We open the season with Moliere’s classic 17th Century comedy THE MISER. What an interesting challenge for our students to find their way through the nuances of staging a 17th Century show. This is quickly fol-lowed by part one of the Student Directed One-Act Plays featuring three contemporary short plays. Next up is our musical URINETOWN (the musi-cal), a quirky fun show that ran on Broadway from 2001 – 2003. The title might seem uninviting, but trust us, this is a fun evenig of theatre. The end of February brings us the children’s play “Cinderella.” This is a show for young audiences and will be free to the public. It will be performed in our new 110 seat Studio Theatre. In early April we will present part two of our Student Directed One-Act Plays—this time presenting four con-temporary short plays. We close the season with the gripping American tragedy ALL MY SONS by Arthur Miller. This show will run for six perfor-mances in the new Studio Theatre. Pick up one of our season flyers in the lobby and plan to be with us for a very entertaining and interesting year.
We are so glad you joined us for THE MISER. Enjoy the show.
