In the afternoon, arty types shouldn’t miss Nice’s Musée Matisse (p201) or the Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain (MAMAC; p202). For something more active, rent out skates and zoom along the Promenade des Anglais (p201). DAY 2 // SCENIC RIVIERA Make your way to Èze (p216), the coast’s most stunning perched village. Wander about Jardin d’Èze (p216) for breathtaking views of the coast and lunch at Château Eza (p217) to revel in style in this exceptional panorama. Head back down to the coast and spend the afternoon at the eccentric Villa Ephrussi (p213) or admiring Jean Cocteau’s frescoes at Villa Santo Sospir (p214) in St-Jean-Cap Ferrat. DAY 3 // HIT MONACO Start with a visit of the Jardin Exotique (p224), from where there are stupendous views of the principality.
