This is the land of the greatest natural and cultural combination in the middle of Central America. Nicaragua is the largest country in Central  America, with a population of about five million and a land area of 130,700 squared kilometres. Situated between Honduras and Costa Rica, this land of Lakes and Volcanoes enjoys a tropical climate defined by two Central American seasons, the rainy season from May to November and the dry season that usually goes from December up to April. The coolest temperatures are experienced between November and February especially in the northern towns and surrounding mountainous area. The country has access both to the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Nicaragua has the greatest concentration of active and extinguished volcanoes, fresh water lakes, untouched forests and crater lagoons, in the whole Central American region. This Central American country offers a wide variety of places to experience, such as the green cool mountains and coffee farms in the northern provinces as Estelí, Nueva Segovia and Madriz; beautiful beaches such as San Juan del Sur, Playa El Coco, Ostional and Tola in Rivas the south province on the Pacific; colonial cities as Granada on shores of Big Nicaragua Lake on the Pacific; crater lakes such as Laguna de Apoyo, the clearest and more pristine water in the whole region where kayaking, hiking, swimming, diving and snorkelling can be combined with bird watching and camping; fantastic archipelagos and islands found within the Big Lake Cocibolca, to mention some of them Ometepe Island, Granada Archipelago and Solentiname Archipelago. Peaceful rivers and virgin jungles are found on the Atlantic region as well as exotic islands on the Nicaraguan Caribbean Sea. The Islas de el Maíz known as Corn Islands are a great paradise of the Nicaraguan Caribbean. Nicaragua is a country with a great biodiversity, an incredible multilingual, multicultural and multiethnic population, and a great vocation for poetry, traditional music and literature. Passionate, humble and friendly people welcome you in Nicaragua. After decades of political military conflicts, peace was finally established in 1990, giving the country a new perspective regarding economics and a positive image to the world. Since then, Nicaragua has been gaining a reputation of being a stable, democratic and a safe country for investors and tourists. The new pluralist way of government and the free presidential elections system that takes place regularly warranties the country stability for each period of government. Its rich history, friendly, simple and hospitable people, colonial cities, indigenous culture, volcanoes, lakes, exotic islands and unspoiled sandy beaches have turned the country, in the last decade, into one of the hottest and most exciting Central American destinations. Come to Nicaragua and enjoy! http://nicaragua-spanish-lessons.com
