Our main Goals for 2018 were to:

1. Increase employee engagement score

2. Engage staff in taking responsibility and accountability for the survey

3. Exceed last year’s completion percentage

The Staff Survey 2018 went live on 19th September 2018 and closed 30th November 2018

49% of NEAS employees completed the online survey!

Although we have shown a dip in the number of employees completing the survey from last year we have still sustained that improvement since 2016. The national staff survey centre changed the exemption criteria this year. Last year we were allowed to remove any staff who, during the live survey….. Started a long term absence Left the Trust This year the only ones who were removed were those who commenced the above before the first reminder (which was one week into the live survey) This equated to around 100 members of staff which would have taken us back up to nearer the 54% Also, we had full electronic survey this year, previous to this we had a mix of paper and electronic.

The results have been put into 10 different themes this year and have been categorised as follows:

• Best • Average• Worst

NEAS have been categorised the BEST Ambulance Trust for 7 out of 10 themes!

60% of staff answered yes to 11d – In the last three moths have you ever come to work despite not feeling well enough to perform your duties? If they answered YES then they were asked “have put themselves under pressure to come to work” The lower score is the better score for this question. At 92.4% this is very high but we are not the worst performing and the best is only sitting at 89.8%.
