Omni-NFS Server on a WinXP Service Pack 2 PC

Right-click on your network connection and

choose Properties

Select the tab Advanced

‘EDIT‘ or create ‘NEW‘NFS Share

Configure Read/Writeaccess

Check the Windows Folder Properties of NFS Share (Windows-Sharing)

Folder is not shared inside the M$ network

Check the Windows Folder Properties of NFS Share (Windows-Security)

Rightclick, selectProperties

Verify ‘Everyone‘ has‘Full access‘

NOTE: These Windows security settings supersede the NFS Server settings !

If the Windows security settings don‘t grant full access, the NFS Server can‘t achieve a write access to this folder V+ sends a *Protection error* message.

Define V+ UserID to Windows-User Mapping

Click on Mapping

Select User Name Mapping-Tab

Select your PC from the list

Highlight your Account-Entry in the top list and select the appropriate Windows-Group membership from the bottom list …
