Primary research
This is research that is coming straight from the original source.
Reliable and not modified throughout.
Two types of primary research is qualitative and quantitative.
Can be collected by questionnaires and interviews.
Primary research is more relevant to the needs of the clients.
For my project I will create questionnaires and interviews
Qualitative research
Qualitative research gathers information that is not in numerical form.
For example, diary accounts, open-ended questionnaires, unstructured interviews and unstructured observations.
This research is useful to find out the way in which how people think or feel.
My interviews will be quantitative, as this will tell me how people feel about my ideas
Quantitative research Quantitative research gathers data in numerical form
This can be put into categories, or in rank order, or measured.
This type of data can be used to construct graphs and tables of raw data. Which is easier to look at than qualitative research
My questionnaires will be quantitative, this is because it is easier to record.
Secondary research Secondary research is research that is carried out
with already existing data. It uses information such as books, magazines, journals, newspapers.
This is useful to my project, as the amount of information that can be discovered is very wide, this is useful to my research because I can find lots of information about my product to make my pitch the best it can be.
I intend to get information from the official website of my brand and reviews of the product from other athletes.
