PRAYERFUL CONGRATULATIONS

Bishop Greg recently approved the appointment of Nicole Russell (St. Joseph’s School, Assistant Principal, Religious Identity and Mission) as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion in our Parish. We congratulate Nicole on her appointment and thank her for her generosity in embracing this most important office of immense love in our Parish and School. Nicole will be commissioned during Mass today.

Thought for the Week

What a crazy world … so much that shouldn’t be,

but also so many who try to sow seeds of

goodness and love.

STATIONS OF

THE CROSS

EVERY FRIDAY

AT 6.30p.m.

LENTEN CELEBRATIONS OF THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

The communal celebrations of the Sacrament of Reconciliation which have traditionally been held on a weekday during Lent and Advent have reduced significantly in participation over time. The Parish would like to try a new approach this Lent.

The Gospels of today and next Sunday speak powerfully of God’s mercy.

Following our two weekend Masses next weekend there will be an opportunity to gather as a Parish Family to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and receive God’s forgiving and merciful love.

These Liturgies will be celebrated at 7.00p.m. (Saturday) and 10.00a.m. (Sunday) and will be reasonably brief.

Copies of an Examination of Conscience are available on the Church pews this morning to assist you to prepare to receive the gift of God’s abundant mercy.

We invite you to commit an extra half hour next weekend to enhance and deepen your Lenten journey.

NEW ROSTERS FOR BREAKFAST HOSPITALITY AND COUNTING

Rosters for the next year beginning April 7th can be collected from Tom’s Table.

Please invite others to join your group to sustain this great hospitality outreach.

ST JOSEPH’S SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE WEDNESDAY: 3RD-APRIL 4.30-7.00p.m.

This Wednesday 3rd April, the Multicultural Restaurant will showcase our Parish

Chefs at the School Open Night. We are still looking for a few more dishes. If you

can help please contact Anna 0427609698. Sample plates are $5. with all

proceeds going to support the work of Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion. Tea,

coffee and soft drinks available. Our Parish restaurant is in the quadrangle area

adjacent to the Staff Room and Junior Primary classrooms.

NET TEAM–

PARISH YOUTH RETREAT WITH MASS SATURDAY, 6TH APRIL

The NET Team will be offering a young parishioners’ Retreat on Saturday the

6th April ages 13-18yrs, Church Hall 1–5.30pm. They will prepare and plan

for the YOUTH Mass to follow at 6pm. If your child would like to partake in the

retreat or as a family in the shared supper following the Mass please add

your name to the sheet on Toms Table.

WITH GRATITUDE

Special thanks to Anna Hurrell for her fantastic work in preparing the Parish House for Fr. John Folkman’s arrival and to Elisabeth Harvey for generously renewing the brass baptismal font lid.

Fourth Sunday of Lent 31st March 2019

Michaela is a 21-year-old trainee at Purple House, a dialysis center in the Cen-tral Desert for people suffering from kidney disease. The Aboriginal-controlled service gives patients the opportunity to stay connected with their culture. They do this through traditional healing practices and income-generating activities, such as making bush balms and soaps. With the support of Caritas partners, Michaela is helping to build a social enterprise, a connection to culture and a new outlook for the chronically ill.

Please donate to Project Compassion 2019 and help lift communities in Indonesia out of poverty, and give them hope to protect our common home.

Lives change when we all give 100%. You can donate through Parish boxes and envelopes, by visiting www.caritas.org.au/projectcompassion

or phoning 1800 024 413.
