next (nano-extended textiles) research group …Expanding the Influence of Nanotechnology in Textiles Accomplishments: • Earned a B.Sc. (2009) in Physics from The University of Manchester, UK and an M.S. (2011) in Textile Engineering from N.C . State University. • Joined the N.C. State Univ. Department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science in June (2011) to pursue a Ph.D. in Fiber Polymer Science • 2 nd Ph.D. graduate of the next research group in the Department of Textile Engineering Chemistry & Science at N.C. State University, led by Prof. Jesse Jur. • Developed a systematic approach toward nanoscale thin film spin casting of a wide range of polymers. • Pioneered a ‘polymer physics’ perspective of sequential infiltration processing on polymers through in situ materials analysis. • Demonstrated, for the first time, the use of metallo‐organic vapour infiltration to increase the mechanical properties of synthetic fibres. • In May 2014, joined MANN+HUMMEL (Raleigh, NC) as a product development researcher.
