From the Head Teacher - Ms. Sue Hill Dear Parents, Saturday is usually very quiet at the TX campus, with only a few children visiting school to take part in clubs. Last Saturday, however, was very different! At 8:30am, children from EYFS and their parents started to arrive and squeals could be heard as they caught sight of the huge bouncy castle in the playground. This was our first EYFS Family Morning and the event was a great success thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of teachers, teaching assistants and parent helpers. Photographs of the event can be found in the following pages of this newsletter.

On Thursday, I had the pleasure of joining the coffee morning, led by our Japanese parents. Following the success of our Indian celebrations for Diwali, when we found out about Indian culture through the medium of dance, this event gave us an insight into Japanese culture through the medium of food. Over 20 parents joined the coffee morning, representing Italy, France, Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand and India, all with a common interest in cooking. Our task was to learn how to make a delicious sushi roll. The coffee morning was great fun and successful as judged by enjoyment of the final dish washed down with Japanese tea. A big thank you to our Japanese parents! I hope to see many of you next week for the MP2 production of Aladdin, which will take place on Thursday evening at 6pm. All parents and children are welcome to come and watch. Be prepared for some audience participation as the event takes the form of a traditional pantomime and promises to be highly entertaining.

Saturday was a very exciting and unusual day to be at school last week when EYFS held its first Family Morning on the Tu Xuong campus. Teachers, TAs and parents all came together to provide a range of fun activities for our youngest children including a bouncy castle, face painting, a fishing game and nail art. There was a great atmosphere and it was wonderful to see so many parents and children all enjoying themselves. A big thank you to the parents and carers that helped out on the day with activities and selling food and drink. We were also very lucky to have complimentary Nestle food and drinks provided courtesy of one of our EYFS parents.

A wonderful morning!

On the 3rd of December, PDV visited 6T. We went to the Art Room to do some painting and cutting of our por-traits. The PDV students partnered up with one of the TX students.

The children had a fantastic time with PDV; we did lots of amazing paintings! We painted portraits, made a col-lage with our new friends and lots more. We had exciting conversations and found out more about each other. We look forwards to meeting up again soon.

The end of every term is busy; year groups are coming to the end of topics so children are busy finishing off

work and, as we head into the Christmas season, preparations are ongoing for a number of upcoming

events. We have been very fortunate to have Ms Charlie with us this this term, and next week we will be

holding the TXhibition to showcase the amazing artwork the children have created. There are a number of

festive musical events also coming up in the final week. Please look out for details on the blogs and in the

newsletter. Thursday was a busy day for parents at TX. In the morning, our Japanese families hosted a sushi

making demonstration and then in the evening, the our French families took on the role of hosts. We had a

great evening socialising and learning the art of wine tasting.

Today all the Student Council members from TX, BVIS and AP1 met together to share ideas and get to know each other. The meeting started off with some team building activities and then each Student Council had the opportunity to share what they have been doing in their school. TX and AP1 discussed playground equipment and were very interested in the Playground Monitors that BVIS have. BVIS asked what ideas we had about raising money for charity. It was a great opportunity for all the children to talk to each other and each Student Council now has some ideas to discuss in their next meeting. The event finished off with a delicious lunch and special muffin treat for all students! Ms. Anna Hughes

Inter House Basketball Competition Students from all four houses took part in an Inter House Basketball Competition. Milepost 3 took part on Monday and Milepost 2 took part in the tournament on Tuesday. The results from the competition are below: MP3 Basketball Tournament:

Overall results 1st Place: Hue 2nd Place: Hanoi 3rd Place: Dalat 4th Place: Saigon First and second place position was decided on overall points scored throughout the tournament. MP2 Basketball Tournament:

Overall results 1st Place: Saigon 2nd Place: Hue, Dalat and Hanoi Well done to all the children involved especially the house captains and the Year 4 students who volunteered to run the teams. U11 Boys Basketball Tournament- Wednesday 3rd December The U11 boys‟ basketball squad took part in the Pool A tournament at ISHCMC on Wednesday 3rd December. The team consisted of; Bao Tran, Anh Vu Dang, Pana Duong, Tyler Nguyen, Yoo Min Park, Khoa Tran, Gia Vinh Nguyen, David Nghiem, Andrew Vu, Rishi Ahuja. The team played four games of basketball throughout the afternoon. The initial game they played was against AIS-TT. This game enabled the TX squad to organise both their attacking and defensive play on court. Both Tyler and Gia Vinh had a massive impact on the attacking play during this game. Anh Vu made some superb rebounds which contributed to baskets being scored, culminating in a win over AIS- TT 8-25. The second game against SSIS A and third game against AP1 were tough and required the squad to persevere and fight for every ball. Khoa made some superb rebounds and steals throughout the defensive plays of these games. Andrew, Yoo Min, Pana and Bao created space throughout the attacking play contributing to several baskets. However, the TX team struggled to maintain the tempo of the game and fatigue set in. The TX squad lost both games. The fourth game was against ISHCMC for third or fourth position. The TX team knew this game was going to be a battle as soon as they stepped onto the court. Both teams showed signs of fatigue early after the long afternoon of basketball. However, Rishi and David‟s defensive play was superb. They chased every ball and marked their players slowing down play. This game was end to end with TX taking advantage of the weaknesses in ISHCMC‟s defence. However, in the last 10 minutes the TX squad struggled to keep up with the momentum of the play. The final result went to ISHCMC 16-10 points. The squad finished fourth overall out of the six teams in the „Pool A‟ tournament. The player of the tournament was Gia Vinh Nguyen for his strength and composure on the ball during the attacking set pieces. The TX team demonstrated determination and perseverance throughout the tournament. The team has improved dramatically throughout the season and this is due to the hard work and dedication of the students. Well done TX you should be proud!
