The Burton Ohio team recently
came through like a shining star for
Henniges Automotive, one of our key
customers. The customer’s corporate
sourcing office received a call late on a
Friday afternoon asking for help with
a key compound needed to make parts
for GM. The parts had failed, due to no
fault of HEXPOL, and Henniges was
in danger of shutting down one of the
GM assembly plants (a very expensive
event if it were to happen).
The customer called HEXPOL and
asked if there was any way for us to
mix compound yet that same Friday
evening. After a quick raw material
review, we determined that one ingre-
dient was lacking. The customer was
able to locate this ingredient and have
a courier pick it up and deliver it to
Burton.
Our Burton team then sprang into
action. Several associates braved a
winter ice storm and came back to the
plant at 11pm the same day. They
made recipe modifications on the fly
in order to make the compound work
in the customer’s extrusion process.
We mixed in the middle of the night
and the customer arranged for a truck
to pick up compound at 6:00 am on
Saturday. The material was expedited
to the customer ‘s extrusion plant and
successfully made into parts.
Through the quick action of the Burton
team and many associates, our custo-
mer was able to avoid a catastrophic
situation.
