Fair Trade Lenten Lunchbox Challenge: As part of our ongoing work as a Fair Achiever school, the School and Eco Councils have decided to launch our Len- ten Challenge. Wherever possible, we are asking you to switch to Fair Trade goods. Staff will be completing this as well. We will be encouraging the children to identify "swaps" to Fair Trade items and keep a list of total fair trade items in class. The children who participate in the initiative will receive a certificate at the end of Lent. Good luck everyone. Tennis Tournament A big well done to Bella, Joe, Theo and Darcey for taking part and winning the tennis tournament organised by South Ribble School Sports Partnership the Friday before half term. We now go through to the Lancashire Finals taking place on 26th June. Very well played children! Please remember we are a nut-free school as we have a number of children with severe nut aller- gies. Therefore, no products containing nuts should be included in a childs packed lunch. Thank you. Just a reminder, the children may come to school dressed as their favourite book character next Thursday 5th March to celebrate World Book Day—prizes will be awarded for the best outfit from each class.

A big well done to Bella, Joe, Theo and Darcey for taking part and winning the tennis tournament organised by South Ribble School Sports Partnership the Friday before half term. We now go through to the Lancashire Finals taking place on 26th June. Very well played children!

Family Fun Run

Sunday 8th March 2020

Please can we request donations of the following:

Bottles of wine to be given as prizes for the winners of each age category

Cakes for the race refreshment area

If you could drop these at the school office on or before Friday 6th March that would be great!

Thank you for your support.

Can you help?

Can you help as a marshal during the race? We already have a number of people who have kindly offered to help but we really need another 5 race marshals.

Marshalling is a great way to get involved as it is massively appreciated by the runners and is a great way of supporting those taking part - full instruction will be given on the morn-ing of the event. If you can help you will need to be at school for 9.30 am and you will be provided with a high-viz and mar-shal point. You will need to be at your designated marshal point from 10.30 am until about 12 noon.

If you can help please sign up using the volunteer matrix out-side the school office.

Many thanks for your help.

Please note…. The next PTFA meeting is Tuesday 10th March at 7pm at New Longton Sports and Social Club - all are welcome!

Please let us know by Monday at the latest by returning the school lunch order form. Many thanks.
