Welcome from our CEO – Craig Perkins

The Coop, thanks to the wonderful support of our Members and Customers, recorded strong sales for

the month of October right across our business. This is a very encouraging result given the ongoing

drought and soft retail sector.

In this month’s newsletter, we have an opportunity for our Members and Customers to pick up a great

deal with our Off-Season Seed sale, together with a number of store promotions being run in the Retail

and Produce departments.

We recently created a fencing display on site to promote the various types of fences available, including

Gallagher, Whites Rural, Waratah and our new suppliers Rotech and Amacron.

I am delighted to advise we completed our first project for the Wingecarribee Adult Day Care Centre at

Bowral, where we donated plants for the garden upgrade. A number of staff and directors volunteered

their personal time to complete the planting and mulching for the new facility.

WATER MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

Here we have a customer’s existing irrigation system that was constantly leaking through the glue

joints. We were asked by the customer to come in and repair/replace the PVC pipe, as they were not

happy with the existing installation. It is now neat and tidy with minimal glue and primer showing.

Our Water management team were called in to do a service of an Irrigation system. The picture below

is just one of the jobs we tidied up on site. We tried to minimise the confusion of the pipes and make

it neat and tidy inside the pump house itself.

Summer Heat is on the Way!

I hope November finds you well and you have been able to cope with our changeable weather. Still

not much rain – but we can only hope.

Garden Tasks for November

As mentioned in my last newsletter:

• Mulching is a priority to conserve soil moisture.

• Place a ring of lime around the vegetable garden to keep snails and slugs at bay.

• Keep outdoor container plants well-watered.

• Feed summer flowering perennials with a soluble complete plant food i.e. Harvest or

Powerfeed.

• Water Citrus and Fruit trees regularly to ensure healthy fruit- even and regular watering is the

key to perfect fruit.

A huge range of flowers can be planted out now. Cosmos, Coleus, Phlox, Petunia, Zinnia, Marigolds,
