Mrs Lesley Brennan Football Tournament Year 6 have been working really well for the past few weeks, so some of them, along with Panos and Stavros from Year 5, had the opportunity to go to Stewards and play football against different schools. The team was made up of Qadir, Charlie G, Levi, Donald, Seun, Bailey and Chris- an. The first match was against Long- wood and we drew 1-1. Unfortunately, in the second match we lost 1-0 to Wa- ter Lane and lost the next game 2-0 to Abbotsweld. This was a really devas- tang me for the team, but we will connue to train hard with Tony and improve before our next game. We finished in fourth place but we knew that we had tried our best. Donald was named as the player of the tournament as he worked hard for the team and showed good skill and encouraged his team mates. We would like to thank Tony for coach- ing us and Mrs Barnard and Mrs Wilsher for sup- porng us. The children were also very excited to get his autograph! Everyone was in- spired by Canaan’s visit and will now use this to push on with their own Athlecs training. I enjoyed running with Canaan Soloman, I was surprised that aſter every race we did, he wasn’t out of breath! He inspired me to be an athlete. His early life as to how to be an athlete was inter- esng, I want to be like him. His main goal is to be in the Olympics. Poppi C When Canaan came to our school, I was amazed at how many laps of the field he could do. It was amaz- ing to run beside a famous runner; I could not believe how fast he could run. At the end, everyone got his autograph. I loved the experience. Levi G Canaan came to our school for Athlecs. He was super-fast and ran at least 20 laps around the playground. It was quite awesome and he gave us a speech saying that just because you are fast now, it does not mean you will be in the future as you have to work hard and train. I enjoyed it because it made me think, I am not fast but if I train then I can be the fastest! Charlie W I enjoyed it when Canaan Soloman came to our school and movated us and showed us how to run. Canaan Soloman inspired me and encouraged me. We also got his autograph. I enjoyed the relays and running laps around the playground. Donald B
