thSaturday 25 of May saw over

850 people enjoying great

entertainment, tasty food,

interactive workshops, exciting

market stalls and informative

displays at the ninth annual

Upper Ross Family Expo.

A big thanks to all the residents

who came along and enjoyed

this great day. The feedback

received was all very positive.

Through out the expo there

were over 25 service providers in

attendance for local residents to

talk with, along with a varied mix

of fun events. Including, jumping

castle, merry-go-round, circus

performers, drumming circle

plus parkour demonstrations.

The performers definitely kept

the crowd entertained through

out the day.

One of the activities on the day

was the creation of a community

aerosol mural. As residents

entered the grounds they were

invited to participate. The

finished work will be sealed and

attached to the front fence of

the community centre, so come

and have a look.

You've seen the ads on TV. You've read the stories in the newspaper. You've heard it talked about on the radio. So just what is The Queensland Plan?Delegates from each electorate around the state, as well as Mayors and MPs, gathered in Mackay in May to determine six key questions that could prompt Queenslanders to think about the direction and development of our state in the next thirty years. The next step has been inviting everyone to have their say in answering these questions, including school competitions for primary and secondary students, and reaching out to the community through different mediums – such as community newsletters. It's easy to register your response to The Queensland Plan. I recommend you check out the key questions first, then you can log onto the website to post your ideas at: http://queenslandplan.qld.gov.au/get-involved/ If you prefer to do things the old-fashioned way, hard copy responses are also welcome – contact my office on 4773 3116 for more information.Below are three of the questions we've developed to get you thinking:

• In the context of living in the community, how do we move our

focus from me to we?

• How do we empower and educate individuals, communities and

institutions to embrace responsibility for an active and healthy

lifestyle?

• How do we attract and retain the brightest minds and ideas

where they are most needed and capitalise on global opportunities?

Everyone is welcome to have their say, so why not do it today –

you just might change our future for the better.

Share your vision for our future
