Quaker Jet filly from Im Ready Set, gets into her work.

The first Down Under 2YO Quaker Jets are up and trotting, and at Yabby Dam Farms in Bal-larat, assistant trainer Ben Aubron is delighted with the progress his charges are making (See Video).

A Quaker Jet filly out of the winning mare Schleck has really caught Ben’s eye.

USED TO ME fillies Imsettogo, left, and Command Me, right, both finalists as 2YOs in the Aus-tralian Breeders Crown.

Get USED TO ME, trotting from Day oneYabby Dam Farms moved quickly after seeing

the outstanding types thrown by French and Australian group winning sire Used To Me, in his first crop of just five foals now 3YOs.

Three of that crop started as 2YOs including two trial winners and with one dying in a training mis-hap, the four remaining are currently preparing to race as 3YOs, including Imsettogo and Command Me, who were both finalists in the Australasian Breeders Crown 2YO Fillies Final,.

His second crop was also small, just four foals,

but they are also training up well reveals Yabby Dam Farms assistant trainer Ben Aubron, includ-ing a colt out of My Dreamweaver

“He is a really nice colt to drive, I really like him,” says Ben, who also has a bit of time for a filly from Pretty Peggy Sue who is a half brother to Group One VSS 3YO champion Kinvara Sue and 2018 Vic. Oaks winner Pretty Majestic.

Ben is also particularly impressed with her year-ling full brother, a powerful colt, who should devel-op into yet another Used To Me 2YO runner.

BREEDING HINTSLike his sire Love You, should nick well with

smaller Sundon mares with a 92% strike rate (starters to foals) in Europe with Arnie Alma-hurst line mares and he also has a around 80% strike rate with Star’s Pride (Pegasus Spur, Crazed etc). Has nicked well with both Garland Lobell (Angus Hall, Majestic Son etc) and Balanced Image (Monarchy) ) and Valley Victory (Muscles Yankee, Muscle Mass etc) and his a high 66% with Speedy Crown (Arm-bro Invasion etc) lines. Jets he has broken in have been an absolute plea-sure to work with, quick learners, natural trotters and with a sensible attitude.

Quaker Jet, still Love You’s best son, is firmly es-tablished among the elite stallions in France, after a stellar racing career in which he won 1.75M eu-

ros, This included nine group races, three at group one level while he was also was second in the world’s greatest trotting race, the Prix d’Amerique.

Quaker Jet’s progeny have won over 11 million euros from just five crops racing and he is the sec-ond youngest sire currently in the French top 15, second only to Ready Cash.

Orlando ViciOrlando Vici had a Group winner among his

three winners (See Video) from only 11 foals in his first Australian crop.

He also had no less than five qualify for the AB Crown 2YO finals.

Most Down Under breeders missed the boat on Love You,

Don’t miss the boat on Orlando Vici.

BREEDING HINTS Geniune outcross sire who is proven (72% plus

starters to foals) in Europe over Speedy Crown (Armbro Invasion, Muscles Yankee etc), Star’s Pride (Pegasus Spur, CR Commando etc), Speed-ster (Sundon, Pine Chip) Balanced Image (Mon-archy) and Garland Lobell (Angus Hall, Majestic Son) lines especially with those carrying Speedy Crown maternally. A VICBRED eligible Swedish-bred son of prov-en sire of sires Love You, Dreamcatcher is a potent mix of the very best US and French lines. His dam was a top filly herself, and a sister to International Group winner, the millionaire Ca-nadian trotter Wesgate Crown. Powerful and beautifully gaited, After show-ing blistering speed in training Dreamcatcher was reluctantly retired after injury restricted his racing to just one Australian start.

Dreamcatcher BREEDING HINTS By Love You, a proven sire of sires, who all

seem to have a real affinity for Arndon line mares (including of course Sundon). Dream-catcher is from the same maternal family as Speedy Somolli (grand sire of Valley Victo-ry) and Workaholic, who both changed the breed in France. With Andover Hall as his damsire should be a perfect match for An-gus Hall and Majestic Son mares, where his perfect temperament should be a bonus

SERVICE FEE $2000 + GST

Indeed a dozen of Yabby Dam’s top mares went to Used To Me in his third season and those foals, now yearlings, are being broken in including a colt out of Royal Treat who was Gr1 placed as 2YO and a half sister to Nieta and from the immediate family of Breeders Crown champions Dance Craze and Reina Danzante, descending from champion mare La Coocaracha.

There is also a colt foal Bella Chevel, a half sister to Calder Sensation and a half sister the dam of Australian 2YO & 3YO Trotter of the Year Blitzthemcalder.

There is also a first foal colt from Eilish Monarch, who is a half sister to NZ Oaks winner Ella Powell, Amore Stride and Harriet Hughes the dam of Har-riet Of Mot, and from the same family is another

BREEDING HINTS Quiet temperament should suit bigger Sun-don and Majestic Son, Angus Hall mares, and ideal for mares by Pegasus Spur, Crazed, Barcardi Lindy, Britewell, Continentalman, CR Commando etc especially those that carry Speedy Crown maternally.

SERVICE FEE $2000 + GSTUSED TO ME 2YO filly out of Pretty Peggy Sue.

DISCOUNTS and VICBRED Two big reasons it pays to chill out this season

Love YouAustralasian breeders have been ecstatic with

the latest crop of Love You, while a large group of his yearlings are being prepared for sale.

Kiwi Michele Caig sent us this beautiful shot of her Sun Mist colt, whose granddam was none other than Dominion Handicap winner Merinai.

The book now full and closed in New Zealand for nznz Trotting sire of the year 2016 and 2017. & World No 1 Stallion by earnings 2012, 2013 & 2015. Sire of 2016 HRNZ Horse of the Year, Monbet, 2YO and 3YO Trotter of Year, Enghien, winners Great Things Happen, Habibi Inta, etc.

Dream VacationPerhaps a reminder of how good a stallion Dream Vacation is, was the performance of first starter Travel Bug to win the 3YO trot at Maryborough late last month for Anton Golino and Yabby Dam Racing. The internationally successful siring son of World Champion Pine Chip, and sire of champi-on trotter Stent, is still available to New Zealand breeders, through Haras des Trotteurs.

En SolitaireThe first son of super sire Ready Cash, En Solitaire is currently being let down in Australia after being finally retired, when his injury resurfaced in train-ing in an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to get to the races.

En Solitaire is bred on the same cross as Bold Eagle, being by Ready Cash out of a Love You mare. smh
