We have association with Skill Knowledge Partners like Dr Reddy’s Lab in Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Vizag; Strides Pharmaceutical Ltd. in Bangalore & Strides and Shasun in Pondicherry; Kemwell Biopharma in Bangalore. We got immense support from TISS –School of Vocational Education in all aspects for running the programme smoothly. Currently we have two B.Voc programmes floated to cater API and FORMULATIONS respectively, and 6 short term programmes for business in pharmaceutical domain approved by TISS SVE as per the need of the market. In a nutshell, we are glad to have our association with TISS SVE for the nation building activity. We wish the ‘Skill Development Programme’ of TISS – SVE a huge success and growth in leaps and bounds. I) Roundtable on Vocational Stream by NIOS, TISS
A roundtable conference was organized on 5th November 2016 at National lnstitute of Open Schooling (NIOS),
Noida in partnership with School of Vocational Education - Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
The conference witnessed participation of representatives from National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC),
National Skill Development Agency (NSDA), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), National
Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), Aditya Birla Foundation, various sector skill
councils, industry, and vertical anchor of TISS-SVE.
The discussions were made regarding the rollout of skill courses that can be aligned to class 10th and 12th
equivalence and can act as entry point to B.Voc programs under TISS. The opportunity to converge existing
partner Institutes of NIOS to hub partner at TISS was also discussed.

II) Maidan Summit at University Of Mumbai Campus, Kalina
TISS - SVE participated in “Maidan Summit” on “Scalable
Innovations to converge education with sustainable
livelihoods” held on 13th and 14th Dec'16 in University of
Mumbai, Kalina. It aims at promoting collaboration, sharing
best practices, and learning in the education.
The two day event was a platform for interaction,
communication, networking and discussion with people
from the field of education, NGO, social work, art/music,
entrepreneur. The chief guest for the event were great
personalities like Mr. Rahul Bose (Film
Maker/Actor/Director), popular social workers etc. Prof.
Neela Dabir, Dean of SVE, was invited for a panel discussion
on “New Approach to Vocational Training for youth”.
All participants including TISS-SVE had set up Kiosks at the
venue. There was a huge opportunity for networking and
interaction with people from diverse fields.

III) Introductory Counseling Services Workshop at TISS, Mumbai
Introductory counseling services workshop was held at TISS campus on 28th and 29th
November 2016 by R&D team of SVE. It was attended by SVE freelance counselors from
different parts of India with the objective to introduce them to each other along with TISS- SVE
team and involve them in development of various self enhancement modules for B.Voc
Programme. Mrs. Swapna Redij, senior counselor (TISS) was present to facilitate and add value
to the workshop.

TISS – School of Vocational Education has shown a moderate growth in quarter 3(Oct’16 – Dec’16) than the
last quarter 2(July’16 – Sep’16) in terms of new hubs on board. There are 175 hub partners as on date in
comparison to 163 in the last quarter. New training hubs have partnered with SVE in Management &
Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills, BFSI, Healthcare, Automotive and Geriatric care verticals. The
above graph shows the growth trend of number of hubs from quarter 2 to quarter 3.

TISS – SVE has a total of 292 Skill Knowledge Partners in quarter 3 (Oct’16 – Dec’16) out of which
Childcare and Geriatric care has the maximum number of 103, followed by 48 in MEPS and 18 in
Automotive vertical.

Apar India, Delhi (training hub partner of MEPS vertical) organized a workshop on “Ingredients of a Good Personality” which was conducted by Ex.Lt. Rita Gangwani, an image architect and former Miss India trainer. The students were enthralled with the session as each and every student had finally got a set of guidelines which could put them in the path of success both professionally as well as socially.
II) Workshop conducted at Horizon Infotech, Indore
I) Workshop on “Ingredients of a Good Personality” – by Apar India, Delhi
A two day mural workshop was conducted for B.Voc students in October’16. This workshop was in association
with Fevicryl Hobby Ideas. The basic intent behind the workshop was to give exposure to the students with other
mediums of art like canvas, clay, colors, paper mache. Students learnt actual mixing of colors to create a
composition.
The hub conducted “Paint for Peace” exhibition during October & November 2016 where the young artists
conveyed the message through sketches, digital art, oil paintings and compositions. The exhibition was visited by
their parents and friends.

III) Tourism day celebration at Dr. Zakir Hussain Institute, Patna
Students of B.Voc in Hotel Management, Dr. Zakir Hussain Institute participated and took initiative in the event organized for “World Tourism Day” which was held on 27th September, 2016.

After the successful launch of B.Voc in Early Child Development programme with Navy Wives Welfare
Association (NWWA) in Mumbai and Delhi, third partnership with NWWA in Vishakhapatnam was also done.
On 3rd November 2016, meeting was conducted for navy officers and sailor’s wives to understand B.Voc in
Early Child Development programme and to invite applications for admission. Prof. Neela Dabir, the Dean, TISS
- SVE spoke about the programme. Mrs.Bimla Bisht, President - NWWA Eastern region and her team members
were also present for this meeting.

II) Shri Guru Ram Rai (P.G.) College, Dehradun
Shri Guru Ram Rai (P.G.) college situated in
Dehradun, Uttarakhand is the new hub partner
for Child Care and Geriatric Care vertical. Shri
Guru Ram Rai college is accredited by NAAC and
is one of the premier colleges with departments
of Chemistry, Maths, Botany, Geology, English,
Economics and centers of Ph.D. programme. It
has over 122 educational institutions in North
India. Hub partnership agreement was signed on
25th October 2016.
III) Kemwell Biopharma, Bangalore
Inaugural function of the 1st batch of B.Voc in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing was conducted on 5th Nov, 2016 at
the premises of our skill knowledge provider – Kemwell Biopharma, Bangalore. All concerned authorities from
TISS SVE, Take Academy of Life Science & Leadership Pvt. Ltd. (hub partner of pharmaceuticals vertical) &
Kemwell Biopharma (SKP – pharmaceuticals) witnessed this occasion. It was good to see mentors (SKP
supervisors) talk about the benefits of this programme & the students acknowledging the same whole heartedly.
With lot of energy & positivity some students came forward to share their experiences of this work-integrated
training program.
