Sept. 28 - Oct. 1 Dear Parents, I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Eid break! I can’t wait to see your children, and hear about what they enjoyed most about their time off. We have picture day this coming Tuesday, September 29 th . Our class time slot is 9:00-9:30. While we do have PE scheduled for this day, please feel free to send your child in their dress uniform. Dates this week: We have PE on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Picture Day is on Tuesday Sept. 29th Literacy -We will continue working on name recognition and on writing our names. -We will work on prewriting foundation skills. -We will start talking about “environmental print ” (see the attached parent letter)

Math -We will be working on number recognition. -We will start working on one-to-one correspondence.

Unit Continued We will start talking about transportation systems and plan an imaginary class trip. We will be inquiring into all the systems involved in travel.

Unit of Inquiry Central Idea: “Systems help us live and learn together.” Learner Profile: Thinker, Communicator We will continue to review our classroom system and school system.

Home connection: Read daily with your child. Practice writing their names. Bring in examples of environmental print (shopping bags, food labels, pictures of restaurants, etc.) Thank you for all your support, and for working hard with your child :)
