For the past year Centralian Senior College has made some subjects available online using CDU’s
Learnline system.* All Year 10 students in 2013 were involved in Learnline via their Stage 1 PLP classes.
Other subjects which utilised Learnline included Stage 2 Accounting & Tourism, plus Stage 1 English,
Accounting, and Psychology.
In 2014 we are expanding the number of subjects to include History, Science, Creative Arts and
Mathematics. The Learnline system allows students to access resources 24 hours a day via their
computers or mobile devices. Resources can include videos and other multimedia, video conferencing,
interactive quizzes, forums, required documents, summative and formative tasks, and online lessons.
Aside from being able to learn and work when away from school, students also gain experience in the
online university environment. As the use of online learning systems expand it opens up the possibility for
students in remote schools to enrol in subjects not otherwise available to them.
Students can log in directly or via the new CSC website opening in 2014.
*Learnline is part of the worldwide Blackboard Learning Management System and is also available via
apple and android apps. For more information please contact [email protected].

It was the “Night of Nights” on Wednesday 20 November as the Centralian Clontarf Academy hosted the
Clontarf Central Region Annual Awards Night.
A crowd of around 200 people including family members, school staff, Clontarf employees & partners,
sponsors and distinguished guests congregated in the theatrette to celebrate the outstanding achievements
made by the Clontarf Academy students in 2013 from Yirara College, Centralian Middle School and
Centralian Senior College academies. The master of ceremony duties were shared by three of the
Centralian Academy members Noel Kruger, Bonner Watts and Ronald Tilmouth who all spoke with great
confidence.
Awards were presented to Clontarf Academy members that displayed outstanding achievements over the
course of 2013 for the following categories:
Attendance: Michaelis McMasters
Academic Achievement: Liam Presley
Determination: Ethan Satour & Jarrod Cocker
Leadership: Noel Kruger
Clontarf Spirit: Lachlan Tilmouth & Bonner Watts
The night was also in honour of the nine young men that will graduate from Centralian Senior College on their completion of Year 12. We are extremely proud of Keelhan Armstrong, Jarrod Cocker, Ronald Tilmouth, Noel Kruger, Travis Long, Shane McMasters, Liam Presley, Jarrod Roberts and Ethan Satour. Their efforts throughout the course of the year were inspiring to all Academy members and staff alike and we wish them all the very best with their future endeavours. We are extremely confident that these fine young men are well equipped to take on the challenges of life that lay ahead. Well done fellas an amazing achievement. Another highlight of the night was no doubt the video production that was produced by Academy member Wendall Woods. On a very low budget and a very tight deadline Wendall produced a very light hearted and entertaining video that would make any seasoned producer envious. The video package highlighted the depth of the Clontarf program covering all of the key learning areas Education, Employment, Well-Being, Leadership and Football. A career at Imparja awaits Wendall. As another year comes to a close it was a very fitting way to reflect on what has been a sensational year at the Centralian Clontarf Academy and reward the outstanding achievements made by the young men in the Clontarf Family.
