Ygl Convergence Berhad was awarded one of the winners for the Most Promising Entre-preneurship Award 2009 at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (―APEA‖) 2009 Malaysia. Mr. Yeap Kong Chean, CEO of Ygl was conferred at a gala dinner and official awards ceremony held last night at the Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

APEA is a world-class award recognizing and honoring business leaders who have shown outstanding performance and tenacity in developing successful businesses within the region as judged by an independent judging panel. Judging from both quantitative and qualitative criteria, the winners of the Most Promising Entrepreneurship Award are entrepreneurs that have displayed out-standing accomplishment and have the vi-sion and plan to lead their companies to be-come leading businesses in the near future.

Mr. Yeap‘s success formula is ―Never Give Up‖. In order to excel, you need to go through a competitive environment and only by doing so, can a person‘s true potential be cultivated and realized. He believes the spirit to move forward and bring value to the

company is in what we do must be right for the group, customers and business partners.

Currently Mr. Yeap has led the company to expand by creating expertise domain for In-dustry verticals and also opening offices across Asia Pacific.

His future vision is to create a ―Think Tank‖ committee – where entrepreneur works! This is to attract talented people of all walks of industries to share in our vision and grow with the company.

For Mr. Yeap, having a strong vision has been a defining factor in his success. Almost from the beginning, Mr. Yeap has had a clear idea of where he wants to take his company. While the core elements have re-mained the same — to build a strong, pro-fessional company —the vision changed in scope to encompass not only Malaysia but all of Asia Pacific.

“My vision is to build a legacy with an elite

committee and a brand that endures,‖ he says.

WORKSHOP

Ygl R&D CENTER, Pg

20th & 21st AUG 2009

22 August 2009

The recently conducted event, TAXcom Workshop was an overwhelming success, crowded by partici-pants for northern regions. A full day event held for two days, on the 20th and 21st August 2009 at our very own Ygl R&D Centre in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

The market demands keep changing as time goes by. Ygl maintains close communications with the market, and always listens to the voices of its cus-tomers in order to stay ahead of these changes and provide timely improvements. Hence, changing from our normal oral TAXcom seminars to a new and improved TAXcom Workshop, where partici-pants can actually hands-on the program itself with the guidance from the consultants. However we do not end there, Ygl had invited IRB Officers to dis-cuss on the most common issues and problem faced by tax agents / payers and to update the par-ticipants on the latest issues and event from LHDN.

Responding to the needs for next generation of tax agents / payers, Ygl‘s TAXcom Software will strive further on to meet their never-ending demands and transform Malaysia‘s Tax System into a world-class system.

Coming to

Kuala Lumpur soon...

Ygl wishes to all Malaysian Happy 52nd Independence Day

Merdeka Merdeka Merdeka !!!

About the Forum Recognizing the challenges that arise from increased demand for medical services and the need to enhance disease surveillance and response to public-health emergencies, governments of advanced economies are taking a critical look at how to channel the available re-sources into their healthcare systems to enhance the continuity of care and better integration of different healthcare services for the benefits of their citizens. In Hong Kong, our Government has been active in promot-ing eHealth in our healthcare system over the years. A territory-wide electronic health record (eHR) system was recognized as the infrastructure for the reforms, particu-larly a market structure which promotes greater public-private partnership (PPP), as proposed in the Health-care Reform Consultation issued in March 2008. The development of a territory-wide eHR system is fun-damental to PPP

in the healthcare sector as it provides a framework for the transition of patients between different levels of care and between the public and private sectors. The eHealth Fo-rum 2009, themed ―We Care, We Share: Creating Our eHealth Future‖, seeks to address the key issues reached among healthcare professionals from both the public and private sectors now and on the road towards a successful implementation of eHR . It aims to achieve the following objectives:

To promote stakeholders‘ understanding of the major eHR components on the roadmap of its development

To gain a more in-depth appreciation of current and future development plans for electronic medical / pa-tient record (eMR / ePR) in public and private health-care sectors

To share ideas that can promote inter-operability of eMR / ePR systems and seamlessness in eHR sharing

"Ygl‘s Research and Development

Centre in Penang are pioneering the

development of Ygl‘s first web based

Digital Library project with our over-

seas Ygl office in Hong Kong.

Close inter-office collaboration is a

pre-requisite for success but over the

first few months of the project, the

coordination and transfer of both do-

main and technical knowledge was

found to be challenging in develop-

ing one of Ygl‘s most ambitious and

complex project to date.

A decision was made in August to

begin adopting Agile methodology

for this project and remarkable suc-

cess was achieved within 2 weeks of

its introduction. This however could

not have happened without the full

support of the Penang‘s RnD staff.

So in recognition of their outstanding

contribution towards this milestone, a

―Most Valuable Contributor‖ certifi-

cate was awarded to Lee Chiew

Seng, Ting Su Lin, and Aaron Ch‘ng

Khai Lung for making the transition

to Agile methodology a success."
