Enhancing Care Under Pressure – Dr Clare Bosanko [email protected] This months PenPHEM lecture series focused on major pelvic trauma. Dr Clare Bosanko did a fantastic talk which was followed up by some hands on practice using pelvic binders. For references from Clare’s talk check episode 2 of PHEM Cast ( www.phemcast.co.uk) Other good references include the NICE major trauma guideline and the Faculty of Prehospital Care consensus statement of pelvic fracture management ( https://fphc.rcsed.ac.uk/media/1765/the-pre-hospital- management-of-pelvic-fractures.pdf ) Paper in the Annals of Emergency Medicine looked at IO access and found there to be an association with worse survival and neurological outcomes. However, the research wasn’t without problems.
