Building on this tradition each year emphasizes our commitment to school spirit and school pride! Please look for details within this newsletter for information on school activities, the parade, sports events and the homecoming dance. It is mid 1 st quarter as of today. Our teachers are working diligently within ManageBac to provide up to date classroom information. This includes grading and comments, where appropriate, for each assignment collected thus far. As we will not be using Infinite Campus to report grades to parents, we ask that you please take the time to log in and view student work and assessment in ManageBac. In fact, you all have the opportunity to review student work, on an ongoing basis, to determine where students have completed or not completed work, to check on attendance, and to hold discussions with your student about the quality of work turned in at any given time. We hope this will improve the communication and dialogue between student, teacher, and parent alike. We will report an overall grade for each student, for each enrolled class, at the end of quarter and semester milestones in order to track grades for GPA calculations and transcripts. Previously, we sent out information on the process of sign up in ManageBac and how to navigate the system through a step by step tutori- al. If you have any specific questions about classroom material, please contact teachers directly. For all other questions, please contact LaDawn at [email protected]. If a student is going to be absent from school due to a family trip, or are gone for anything else non-school related, they are expected to stop by our front desk and secure a Pre-arranged Absence Form.Students are to take this form to each teacher to collect any necessary work needed while away from campus. Please help our students be proactive and engaged in this process. Lastly, our Grades 9-11 students will be taking the PSAT on October 19. Please mark your calendars and look for more information from our Counselor, Arica Avila. See you all at the Homecoming festivities next week! Warm Regards, Alex
