Welsh Government Tests The Welsh Government Test window opens for pupils in Year 2 and Key Stage Two next Tuesday, 7th May and extends through to Tuesday, 14th May. As before, pupils will sit the Reading and Reasoning (Word Problems) tests via traditional paper based testing. In a change to Welsh Government policy, this year's Numeracy test will be carried out online. The test 'adaptive', which means that every child should be able to access the questions at a level suitable to their ability. Please ensure that your child makes every effort to attend school during this testing period, as they are only able to access the tests during this period. Thank you for cooperation with this. Class Organisation 2019/20 As a result of shifting year group numbers, the following class structure will apply for school year 2019/20. Further information will follow later in the summer term. Nursery (afternoon)/Reception/Year 1 - Based in Early Years Department Year 2/Year 3 - Based in Infant Building Year 4/5 - Based in Junior Building Year 5/6 - Based in Junior Building LSC1 - Based in Infant Building LSC2 - Based in Junior Building This structure allows for very comfortable class sizes. If the school were to continue with its current set up, class sizes in Key Stage 2 would be excessively large. Attendance Current school attendance stands at 93.6%. This is well below our target of 95%. Let’s make a big effort to boost our attendance rates over the next few weeks and months. Our Educational Welfare Officer monitors attendance closely to ensure pupils attend school regularly and are on time. If your child is absent for any reason, please inform the office.
