1 st Jan 2014 Vol.2, Issue 2, 12Pgs. R&D NEWS With the dawn of the year 2015, team R&D brings you the first issue of the newsletter in the new year. It is very pleasing to know that the UPES fraternity looks forward to receive the next issue of the newsletter with much anticipation. Such in-depth reach would not have been possible without the efficient and prompt support by all of you. Team R&D thank you for all the encouragement rendered by the management and the involvement by the faculty members. This has been quite an active quarter for R&D @ UPES, with a couple of distinguished visitors, funding of two projects from DST, submission of few proposals and new collaborations. R&D team has been relocated to a new home (B block, 1st floor, Energy House) and Mr. A Kartik [Research Interests - Energy Policy, Smart Grid and Distributed Generation] has become a part of the team. It is exciting and heartening to note that we are working towards publishing in quality journals with more than 20 such publications during last 3 months with average impact factor of 1.5 (highest ~5.5). The next quarter is again full of extravaganza with distinguished visitors, meeting of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC), implementation of the recently funded projects, etc. I congratulate the Editorial Team for working hard to shape this newsletter. Let’s continue to strive hard to develop our R&D competencies to be a real research focussed University. Team R&D always remains at the forefront for supporting you in the most prompt manner. Wish you all the very best for the year 2015. Enjoy reading the newsletter!
